The POMS fight back.
What a second day performance by us Poms. For once we put the escapees on the back foot. Warne looked pathetic with the ball, McGrath struggled, Gillespe a wounded soldier. Oh what enjoyment.
The first day belonged to Australia, more by the poor performance of the English bowlers. The fielding was poor and several dropped catches didn't help the situation.
The second day was a complete contrast. England brushed aside the baggy greens taking 8 wickets for 128 runs, then batted their way to 150 odd for the loss of 1 wicket.
The only thing that has kept the Aussies in this match is Englands poor bowling on the first day and the decision to field first when winning the toss.
I look forward to day three when we hammer home our advantage and bat our way to safety. There again though, I am waiting for the classic English collapse when all seems well only to lose six wickets for 40 runs. Let's hope this does not happen.
BARMY ARMY, BARMY ARMY, BARMY ARMY, BARMY ARMY
I wonder why PAWAQATSI didnt post after the days play, probably drowning his sorrows in a stubby or two. Hey Pawaqatsi, you were quick enough to post yesterday when you escapees were on top, typical, only gloat when successsful.
