Dont know much about cricket but playing the following

Lowest All Out Team Score
(Ashes Series Specials) 140 and Over

Some of the England batsman look to be in good form. I dont think England has the bowling attack to dismiss Australia's excellent batting lineup for Under 140.

England batting will be key here. Hopefully if 2-3 of the batsman perform then this total will be crossed. From total of 140 mebbe lots of extras. Would help.

The total has to be for team being all out. Hopefully even if there are collapses some sorta runs will be scored before.

First bet in my life on Cricket. Lets see how it goes.

Good luck and Cheers !!!

The POMS fight back.

What a second day performance by us Poms. For once we put the escapees on the back foot. Warne looked pathetic with the ball, McGrath struggled, Gillespe a wounded soldier. Oh what enjoyment.

The first day belonged to Australia, more by the poor performance of the English bowlers. The fielding was poor and several dropped catches didn't help the situation.

The second day was a complete contrast. England brushed aside the baggy greens taking 8 wickets for 128 runs, then batted their way to 150 odd for the loss of 1 wicket.

The only thing that has kept the Aussies in this match is Englands poor bowling on the first day and the decision to field first when winning the toss.

I look forward to day three when we hammer home our advantage and bat our way to safety. There again though, I am waiting for the classic English collapse when all seems well only to lose six wickets for 40 runs. Let's hope this does not happen.

BARMY ARMY, BARMY ARMY, BARMY ARMY, BARMY ARMY

I wonder why PAWAQATSI didnt post after the days play, probably drowning his sorrows in a stubby or two. Hey Pawaqatsi, you were quick enough to post yesterday when you escapees were on top, typical, only gloat when successsful.

glad to see that both teams went over 140 runs in the first inning.

LETS GO ENGLAND. MAKE 500 and get a Draw so the first test is safely avoided.

Cheers !!!

Don't worry to much.

England dont have to make 500 runs. Their first objective is to score 293 runs. This will ensur that they don't have to bat again straight away ( known as following on ).

Their main concern will be to bat for as long as possible, each day is made up of 90 overs. Time occupied will result in runs being scored. If England bat all day, then they will have achieved their two targets, avoiding the follow on and another day taken out of the game. By batting all day they will have amassed a total score in the region of 450.

Australia will have to bat again and get a lead of 350 + runs which will take them another day. Therefore England will have to bat last on a deteriorating wicket which will not be easy but far from impossible.

Good luck and keep cheering for the Barmy Army.

I collected on Hayden and had nothing else to post but now that you started chirping again....

Yes....the Poms fought back a little. Gave more resistance than expected but ultimately fall 170 odd behind on the first innings :thefinger

Convicts to bat on and make the score unreachable!!!!
And stick it up you filthy poms.

G'day PAWA....

G'day PAWA....

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier....might have chipped in with a few choice comments of my own here. ;)

Too late now I know but Bet365 went 1.83 for Engalnd to UNDER 420 runs at the end of day 2  :p

But onto current issues.....If not a slightly different subject....

South Africa v. Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka already been dismissed, and South Africa are 2-150ish as we speak....I expect them to bat all day.
The forecast is for thunderstorms tomorrow and constant rain for Monday, and showers on Tuesday.

I might have a little interst in the draw @ 8.50!!

If Sri Lanka bowl defensively today they may well have to only bat out 50-60 overs...well worth a shot @ that price I think ;)

Well the collapse came again losing last six wickets for alittle more than sixty runs.

Fair play to the Aussies, after a poor day 2 they shown up at the ground and kept attacking. Their bowling was accurate and once again McGrath led the way.

Cant see England picking themselves up again and therefore falling brhind in the series 1-0, which will become 2-0, 3-0 and so on.

My posted bets at this present time look good but in a five test series, thats along way to go.

Allow me to do the Day 4 summary.....

Aussies roll on and make a lead of 460 odd in the second innings.
Poms come out to bat (if you could call it batting!!) and collapse to be all out for a pathetic 79 runs. Short by only 384!!! :D
Game over on Day 4 as usual

Australia leads series 1-0

There are some really great places for the English cricket team to go and see, on their spare day off while up in Queensland!! :D

Roll on game two....
