Why would any bama fan say they "can't wait for the season to start"? that's when they all go back to hiding in their holes and wait for February to come around... so they can print out some more Recruiting National Title T-shirts.

Bama has WAY more history than LSU... period!
Not a fan of either school, but Bear Bryant is probably the most famous college football coach ever. Bryant's Bama squads went to a BOWL Game every year expect his first in 1958 and this was way before the days of 64 teams making a bowl game.
Bryant took over Texas A&M and they went 1-9 his first year. They were 24-5-2 over his next 3 years. Bryant also went 60-23-6 @ Kentucky!
I personally don't like Saban... think he's over-rated. He did good at LSU, but lost at least 3 games every year, but 2003. His Dolphins teams sucked! Michigan State only had one decent year under Saban and then he bolted immediately. If you take away his one great season @ LSU, he's really done nothing special.

as for this A&M success, you need to read Bryant's book where he admits cheating at this school...
First, a quote from ole ball coach: "In 12 years at Florida, I don't think we ever signed a kid from the state of Alabama" "Of course, we found out later that the scholarships they were giving out at Alabama were worth a whole lot more than ours."
Then, read this:

Truth is Saban is an amazing coach, recruiter, ass chewer, and program builder. He upgraded the facilities here at LSU and put us in a position to attract quality recruits. We are pissed because he should have never left in the first place. He had a chance to be a Bear Bryant here, he did not have a chance to be a Don Shula and he will never achieve the legendary status of Bear Bryant. I personally hate everything about Alabama and Saban going there just adds to that. That said I recognize excellence and Saban will have Alabama as a Top 10 progrma soon, and that pisses us off.
