1-3 yesterday...8-4 for week...
hmmm...we have the atlanta braves who are in first in thier divisions.....8-4 in interleague play....having a tremendous year...against the devil rays ....who are 2-13 in interleague play....have lost 3 in a row...and 20 of 24....and atlanta is a more than reasonable minus 150 chalk.....if not a "bargain" at this price...
as ive stated before gonzalez is a different pitcher this year..throw out his past stats ....after his injury he has learned to pitch....he has been nothing short of solid for this club this year...
teams are batting .175 against him at home...and im not talking about detroits offense either...he has faced cinci and texas at home...those offenses take a back seat to no ones
ramirez is nothing special on the road....he has a 5.88 era/1.66 whip/ and teams are batting 313 against him....
those teams he has faced on the road..
1.) oakland
2.) mets
3.) padres
you would think atlanta's pen would have an advantage here...but statistically they are almost dead even...
atlanta pen on the road...3.40
tampa pen at home...3.38
i see advantage tampa in the starters tonight....the only thing that worries me is that gonzalez will give up the gopher ball ....and atlantas line-up is potent...
but ramirez will give up homers as well..of course tampas hitters are not as dangerous..
what i noticed however is that gonzalez has given up a total of 5 homers this year...but only 1 at home..wow
ramirez has given up 9 homers this year and 7 of those on the road..wow..
looks to me when you get this kid out of turner field you have a good shot against him...
not sure if im playing the runline or money line here...but plus 1.5 at only minus 115 looks nice for insurance purposes...
