I love this story and I love this team. Even though they are playing against my school in the final four, you can't help but root for them....

:nono:

They have beaten names, not teams. Michigan State was highly overrated, Carolina was talented but extremely young, Wichita was...well, Wichita, and UConn was a joke considering their talent.

You got to be kidding...they beat great teams and have everyhting going their way...if anyone is overrated...its Florida.
Not saying Mason will win but after beating UCONN I wouldnt put it past them.
Joakim Noah is one of the most overrated players in the game.

Noah is overrated and UConn played at the top of their game?

I'll tell you what. I'm drawing my living room shades tonight because I don't want to see the glare when the sun rises in the West tomorrow morning.

lol - who in this tournament is underrated? George Mason beat UCONN, N. Carolina, and MSU... I don't care how you spin it. That's impressive.

Thats what I am hoping for...........one thing I can say for sure so far about UCLA......they sure dont see to give up many easy shots......any time a guy gets close to the rim they seem to have 3 guys there and they do something a lot of teams dont........they go up and try to contest the shot WITHOUT FOULING........Holland has them playing great "D"........

DD:

UConn was ready for a fall like Tyson in Tokyo. I didn't see it but that's the way it was. Michigan State was another team without a heart this year. Carolina? Well, as a Tarheel fan I was living a dream with them but they are one year away.

These are not the MSU and UNC teams of 2005 and UConn of 2004. That's all I'm saying. Florida wins.

We shall see, I hope Florida thinks it will be easy too...

This reminds me of the PGA prima donnas waiting and smirking at Tiger Woods, Augusta, Georgia. April, 1997.

George Mason - He even sounds like he could be a golfer.

Gonna be Florida-UCLA with Florida winning.

Mason has played very well. Byu they also have played before now under the radar and in the last two close to home. Gonna be awhole new world this week. Plus playing in a dome probably for the first time, wont be easy. Florida of course just finished playing 2 games in the worst site-line Dome there is.

Are you serious, this guy shows up in every big game, he man handled Villanova, and I have seen him do it all season long. And I hate Florida, I mean despise them (mainly because I went to Auburn) but this guy has impressed me all season long.

I hope he continues to do so, wondering when/if to hedge my Florida future at 12-1

Agree with Fla..to some extent

Agree with Fla..to some extent

I have to agree with Fla to some extent, all 4 teams GMU beat were "slightly" overrated compared to reality...but if you watched each of these games, they played exactly the same way each time..it wasn't like they are playing above their heads...they have both an inside and outside game..the only thing I haven't seen is the ability to play an open court game...North Carolina plays that style and Florida can...I don't think Noah and Holford are going to be dunking like they did against Villanova...so I think this game comes down to jumpshooting and turnovers...and to me, the edge goes to GMU in both respects...GMU's foul shooting has been bad in each game of the tourney, that could be theie downfall...we shall see

If Noah is overrated, you must be blind to all that matters in a game you don't understand. I suggest needle point, bird watching, maybe girls high school chess. If this sounds absurd to you, it's no more absurd to me that Noah is overrated. Have you turned your TV on ? Have you seen this guy play ? He has gotten better every step of the way and brought his team with him.

Florida has beaten in tournament:
South Alabama
University of Wisc/Milw.
Villanova

If you asked any "reasonable" person they would tell you that G. Mason has had a tougher road than Florida. It's not even close

I'm surprised that none of you have mentioned coaching. Coaching wins NCAA. Jimmy V and Al McGuire proved that a long time ago. Also, there's not a platoon system coach left. UCLA comes closest to fitting that bill. For my money Billy Donovan is the best coach left in this. I like Fla talent but I love their coach. The team left that is most dangerous is LSU. They haven't played close to their best game yet. They have two really good guards that haven't been able to do anything. UCLA was lucky to play Mem. Mem is a team that plays 10 or 11 players and those teams always seem to have one bad game in the tourn and that's all it takes.

When will college coaches realize they are not in the NBA? Al McGuire said he could take any two NBA starters and win the NCAA, John Wooden and Adolph Rupp said to take your five best players and play them as much as you can. Dean Smith, one of the advacates of the Platoon system, with all the NBA super stars he had during his career only won two NCAA titles. In my opinion, the best coaching he did in his career was during the last NCAA he won. He played 7 players and two of them only played when he had to.

You see why I look at the coach first They will make you money. By the way, I'll be on Pitino tomorrow night and if I lose I'm still ahead on him.

I should have put this in another thread. Sorry about that.
