Be honest: "Are you making any money this season?"

Although most of you know that I don't risk any cash anymore, I still like to post up plays.

Last year, I was in a deep hole about this time of the season. (down over 40 units, with a top end wager of 4 units) I made a big comeback, and actually was up for a short spell, before going back in the tank, and "giving up" on the season.

Since I have not kept my record this season, I don't know where I stand, but i know I would be down big, again.

My question to you:

"Are you up?"

I don't see a lot of you whooping it up, so please let me know.

I'm down but not a great deal.. I've cut the number of my plays back and the amount of my plays... I think the season will get easier as it goes along.. I may be wrong on this but It's been getting a little better the past 2 weeks.. G/L to all of you..

Just try to make around 50-60 units each baseball season betting just 1 or 2 units. I think varying bets kills off alot of peoples ability to make anything. The way I look at it....if you like the play well enough to risk money on it, then why vary the bet. Problem in my opinion, is people wanna make it all at once...no patience!

I will occasionally lay 2 units on a play, but it has to have alot really going for it....has to be really lopside as far as the angles in the game goes.

I am down and in the midst of a losing streak. I have cut my plays way down also so that money wise it is not devastating. I am in one of those streaks where if I talk myself out of a game it wins, if I bet a parlay I lose one, and if I make a side bet I lose that.

only bet $10-20 a game been riding jacks coatails on mlb. so doing fine in that dept. BUT gave it back & them some with nba playoffs last nite was the 1st time i stayed away,getting a cheap education on what not to do if only i can know what to do gl

Been doing very good in MLB, besides my own capping, I compare my picks to Fletcher, Ray, ndnfan and a few others before finalizing them.
I've learned (and its cost me thousands & thousands) that I'm better off loading up on only one or two games each day, rather then betting the board. It's hard enough to win one nevermind 5 or six. So if I bet one game it's for $500. if I bet two, each ones for $250.. I never bet more then two in anyone sport.
In the NBA playoffs, once I like a team, I only bet them for the 1st quarter and 1st half. This has worked out good for me as I don't have to worry about the backdoor cover and I can go to sleep early too!!!!!
I'll either win 2 grand a week or lose 2 grand a week, whichever gets there first is when I pack it in for the week.
I just think the real key is FEWER IS BETTER..............

having a good year, on my way to 200 units.have only made 39 plays all year, don't play every day.Sides:14-7/ Parlays:5-13..I will be @200+ after the WS.

I am up a little for the year, but I have also have the problem of betting too many games. If I would stay with my one or two top plays and not feel like I have to play every game, I would be better off. For instance, my consensus record is 15-6, mostly dogs or even plays, for up 8.73 units. I would be more ahead if I had just played those picks.

I also check to see who fletcher, Raymond, ndnfan, RtIrish, and others are picking and they do influence my plays, for the better. Thanks to all of them for the insight.

Doing real well this year...All of this net stuff wasnt around when I started capping alot of years ago but its made it sooo much easier..If a person uses money management and really does their homework EVERYONE should win..My records all are documented.

Foots NCAA and NFL..Dont have exact numbers..In another folder but was +15720..Had an email list then started posting so they got all messed up..

Bases 14-6 70% +1325

My question isnt "Are you up?" but "how many people really even play"..I see alot of posts that are losers after losers so they are either losing alot or they arent playing so they dont give a crap..

I went from up 30 units to down 30 units in the first three weeks of season played well over 100 games. Now just playing a game a day having much more success, plus things seem to be settling down and cream rising to the top.

OK, I'll be honest........I am struggling (as i always do in bases) Football treats me fine, baskets are usually good, My prop bets are my fave $ makers, but baseball is an annual drain on my account. Funny, alot of my buds say that bases is the easiest to cash in on because you have control of more variables, like weather, starting pitching, ballpark dimensions,lineups, more travel situations etc. I keep it up because it is a long summer with not much else for action. I exercise good money management etc. & make good ( I should say solid, not good. If they were good, they would win more often) picks, but I just never seem to take that many trips to Lucky Town. No lead seems to be safe when I am around !! All of the year's bad breaks seem to accumulate and come during the summer for me.
So, I am down 20 -21units, playing 2-5 games per day and the only bright spot is that alot of football summer mini camps open this week...............and that means Sept. is a comin fast ! You Hit Em For Me ! THE HITMAN

I am doing fine. I have not been down one week this season. Every monday i withdraw money from my account and start again.
I stopped posting my plays because everyone had something to say instead of just reading my posts and using it anyway they wanted.
I never really kept track of money and units in my posts because i keep it to myself.

But to answer your question i am up and i am continuing to do well.

In MLB been up every week, and I bet every day. Hockey was a struggle, but finally up.

not making much, too chicken to bet much. Now watch when I increase my bet size, the winning will cease!!

yes I am up on the game doing well in MLB you can check my totals plays I post the strong ones here and also was + $$$ on the big mack concensus before he wiped the slate clean for the new month, doing well on my action stuff as always just not big plays.

I got booted from my local last year he didn't like my style, said it was customary to play the entire week, but I would QUIT each week when I made my bust out, so I was picking up each and every week thru april and may then when the last week of may 2001, I hit 5 straight dogs he had seen enough I was done.
I think what he meant was it was customary to lose money to him and my strategy stopped that !

I have always done well in college football, just finally started hitting a win % in NFL the last 3 years. I hit 58% this year. That makes me happy and it is the best accomplishment due to the overall imporvement over the years. I limited myself to 5 sides a week and 2 -3 totals.

College basketball solid with home court and revenge and total middle plays half to game strategy. Valuist was a big help with totals, really solidified my confidence when we matched up, but he is better than most including me!

NBA only way I even can stay even with that thing is to :
A shoot for total middles
B shoot for side middles
C coattail some of the best on the web.

NBA is a sport I can't seem to bust, and quite frankly have quit trying ! My 18 yr old son is better than I am with OFF THE TOP OF HIS HEAD PICKS LOL.

NHL I have one and only one guy I COATTAIL he is awesome why should I reinvent the wheel? :nono:

Short story I helped buy my bookie's Lincoln many years ago but some one else paid for his last one a CHRYSLER 300M but I must say it is a nice car I did get to take a test ride when it was new !

I've hit a nice percentage of my plays but while I should be up I'm down because of bad money management. Chasing, playing too many picks, you name it I've done it...

My capping has been solid so I'm going to get the money management together and I'll be all set.

Doing very well. Bank up 73% in April, and up 33% in May so far. I don't post my plays, since my stategy is somewhat unpopular. I bet almost all Fav's. Straight up and in parlays and some RL's. Yesterday was one of my best days took Az, SF, Bos, Minn straigh and in parlays. Only loss was St. Louis.

Its working for me so far.......
