I need to see my golf partners (jack's buddies) in action. If they are the caliber I think, maybe bogey 18-25?? they'll certainly be able to have some shots that are good and we can compete.

DTB, where are you? I would imagine you've played in a few thousand scrambles and should understand the betting really well. input? I was kinda wanting to have a little stake in my own team and win a little cash should we do well. I don't really care about outbidding to wager on tonkgolf's team.

Hell, sandbagging dunclock will probably win again, sorry focker! :mj07:

They said THEY all wanted to pay, but YOU couldn't afford it. Trying to be nice, we just let it go.

Bet all you can baby! We're winning this thing!

When everyone is on the same side, go the other way!

Nole, Rolltide, Stevie and Tommy are gonna shock the world!

I still don't see the late groups getting done by dark.

i'm in but, no, i still don't understand. everybody would bet on tokgolf's team

I'm with Jack. I should know this but I don't.

One person can bet $100.00 on a team? So, is it an auction and then if it gets to $100.00, the last bid gets it? Can you just bid $100.00 at the beginning?

I may need you to color me a picture. :mj07:

Thanks.

Yes you could do that if you were certain that a team was going to win, I guess I could take secret bids from each person, write them down and highest bid takes it, with no limit ??

problem; a couple teams might not finish.

solve that problem, sir! Demand those tee times get bumped up. You have clout!

I also had a thought that some of the teams might be able to start on the back 9 a little earlier. You know there's going to be some gaps in groups on the back.

Look at a Calcutta as a WIN pool at the track.

Take all the money collected by bidding on teams. Winner take all.

If you bet on the favorite, you may have $100 on the table to win a total of $300. 3:1 odds.

If a team isn't getting any action, you could get them for $5, but still win the same $300. 60:1 odds.

I highly doubt we are the real favorite. I'm surprised that this is the way the tide has taken the conversation. We do have the advantage of course knowledge, I guess.

I've seen calcuttas get ridiculous at big scramble tournaments. I think the highest bid price I've seen was around $7,000. That tournament, a team that went for $500 took the cash. :scared

I have played in and run some of the biggest calcuttas in Nashville for years. We had one every year where there were only 12 teams, we knew all the players, matched up the teams where every team had an even chance on the first tee and the calcutta would bring 20,000-30,000 every year:scared

Unfortunately for this event, there is no way that this can be done as the teams are so far out of whack and 3 teams will not get finished:shrug:

Your idea is very solid and would be a lot of fun under normal circumstances!

Uhhhh, you mis-remember. WE didn't have a bet. Your team was ridiculously stacked. However, MY team did get stiffed by Wineguy and crew.

I did not "mis-remember"

We DID have a $10 nassau bet BUT I let you off the hook for the whooping you took the day before and in Chinese Poker:mj07:

And our team was no where near the best "on paper" we just played the best and made the most putts, EXACTLY what you are supposed to do in a scramble:00hour
