In moneyline sports, Stardust generally has the best of the strip books, at least in my experience. That's my personal favorite. Only annoyance is they require drink tickets for their tiny drinks. Bellagio and especially Venetian have free drink service, not to mention incredible waitresses. We generally hang around the Stardust for a while and make our bets there before heading down to the Venetian. Depends on what you want out of a book.

I just got back from Vegas about two hours ago, and really enjoyed it once again out there. I will say my favorite place to hang on Saturday was Mandalay Bay and then Ceasar's a close 2nd. The one thing I dislike about Vegas is that you cannot take Moneylines on alot of the games, couldnt do first halfs and second halfs on alot of games, couldnt buy points, and the lines didnt move near as much as they do offshore--which can be good or bad depending on who you are looking at taking.........good luck and have fun

there are money lines all over town you guys are just on the strip the best ran book s are cal/neva their line is the best in town runs almost the same as pinnacle, and coast is not bad also vegas club downtown, your on the strip and get just what your going to get the strip because they could care less about sports and the ones that do know they are dealing with people for the most part from out of town so lines suck, if you are going to bet sports in vegas you need to go to the locals casinos not the mega resorts on the strip.

Yea, thats what I figured, the sportsbooks on the strip could care less really about the lines and such, as that really isnt their bread and butter, I just didnt want to be running all over town to get the best lines since I was just there for a few days and just did all my stuff offshore and just watched the games there in the sportsbooks......I will say though there were some nice lines every now and then for dogs on a few of the college games.......since they didnt move the lines at all I got like Buffalo +28, when it was moving offshore, and got the Chargers at +5 when it was down to +3.5 offshore........but for the most part I just watched the games in the sportsbook and played offshore.......

Most of the COAST properties accept halves and quarters wagers -- in advance. GOLD COAST, SUN COAST, ORLEANS, BARBARY COAST, etc.

As far as THE BEST sportsbook in LV, it depends on what you are looking for -- comfort or more wagering options. I hope you might find my sportsbook reviews useful, which are posted at the Free Picks page.

Best wishes,

Nolan,
You have high praise for the Venetian. Couple quick questions...
-Is it hard to get a seat on Sunday?
-Do I or Can I reserve a table?
-What type of plays can I go for there?
-Is there somewhere better on the strip?

Thanks,
Boom

are you going to relax or going to play and you can't reserve seats in a sports book on sunday unless you are a guy who has a major major chunk of play on the tables then thry might help you out but would not hold my breath.

barbery coast
stardust
ip

if your going to play ,

any of the mega resorts execpt mgm if you are going to try and watch forgot also stay away from harrah's what a joke it is bad as mgm sports book. to try and watch. i say go to the vegas club on freemont and see what old vegas is like it is very enjoyable and a short cab ride from strip.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
moneylines

moneylines

Cal-Neva (lines out of Reno) you can get at Tuscany Casino (a mile east of strip down Flamingo Road) and at Thirstbusters or Club Fortune in Henderson.

to watch a game, I like the IP and Barbary Coast. You can sit just a few feet from a big screen at eye level. Not one far away you gotta crane your neck and squint your eyes.

for moneylines in Hockey: Boyd Gaming properties (Stardust, Sam's Town, Fremont and the California), MGM properties (MGM, Golden Nugget, Bellagio, Treasure Island, Mirage), Harrah's and Rio Casinos, Hard Rock (breaks from ml to -1.5 puck line at -300, and 30 cent line, but they don't move them hardly at all and you can get some of best prices for big favorites here).

Cal-Neva is the only place I know that offers two NHL betting options, -0.5 puck line and moneyline. nice to mix for some parlays..overall best lines I've seen for hockey are Harrah's (includes sister property Rio) and that Cal-Neva line.

Tr glad you taked about cal/neva best lines and truest out here i go to thirstbusters right up the road, people laugh but if you stay around any of them you can see that is where you bigger money is played by the guys in town who do quite well. They do a great business and are getting ready to put in 3-5 more around town. they take some hits but they take a lot of action lot of action. best ran joint out here.

Some good info popsted here by Fletcher and others. Here's my comments:

Nolan,
You have high praise for the Venetian. Couple quick questions...
-Is it hard to get a seat on Sunday?

***Impossible, unless you get there by 9:30. There is a break and some seats open up between the early and late games (at 1:00) but it's very difficult to get a premium seat unless you get there a minimum half hour early on Sunday.

-Do I or Can I reserve a table?

***Gorget it. Most if not all sportsbooks have a NO RESERVATION policy. Exception is Hilton which has a high rollers area, but there are only a few seats in there.

-What type of plays can I go for there?

***Venetian does not have props. They also dont carry quarters. They have almost everything else.

-Is there somewhere better on the strip?

***For comfort -- no. Honestly, I now stay away from the Strip. Got tired of hearing every "expert" screaming in my ear and yelling their ass off for an 8-team parlay card. No serious handicappers in the Strip hotels most Sundays, just a bunch of drunken college kids. I got sick of it and now just watch the dish or watch the games at the country club.

Well, I finally made it back after a crazy long weekend out there. I hit the Venetian up for the college games on Saturday and it was tremendous. Just a few quick thoughts...

-The waitresses are top notch(Best I saw in my 4 day stay) and are very efficient with keeping a drink in your hands at all times.
-The seating is great.
-The service is way above average(I sat in the right side corner where there about 12 TV's and whatever TV I asked them to turn a game to, they would).

Good times were definitely had all weekend, even after I got ditched by the chick i was with at O'Sheas(Yeah I know) at 8 am on sunday morning.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
