This art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy in our great men.

I have not checked out the station yet, and I will, but for my money, Muddy Waters and his version of Got My Mojo Working is the best blues tune ever.

You guys should check out www.Pandora.com. Internet radio where you choose an artist or song to start your own station. Then they play similar songs and you can rate them if you want to hone your station.

The advantage that it has over anything I've used in the past is that they have over 40,000 artists in their playlist. So you are going to get all the common stuff plus be exposed to a ton of stuff you've probably never heard.

Good stuff, for sure.

I was turned onto Pandora about a year ago. I played with it for a few months, with many different artists, and never was pleased. I haven't even looked, or should I say, listened, at it in at least 6 months, even though they keep emailing me to tell me how good they are.............Of course, that's just my opinion. Half of the artists I typed in, it had no clue who it was, then the ones that it did, they would play similar artists and it was like The Doors = Prince.

The only good thing about it that I found is that it is free.

Very different experience here. Their stations get out of line sometimes, but I think that is just their algorithm trying to figure out 'why' you like a particular song. If you thumbs down something that is way off base in your head, then the algorithm shuts down that entire branch of connection to your original artist.

The main thing I like about it is that it introduces me to a bunch of smaller artists that are not known for the most part (at least by me). I have about 8 stations set up that I cycle through in different moods.

The major drawback is that you can not tell it a specific song due to their contractual set up with rights. You also can not repeat a song for the same reason. No 'song on demand' is allowed. It also does not work outside the US due to rights.

All you blues fans should attend our local blues fest at least once in your lives. Its considered one of the best in the country.

You're welcome Redsfan...........I did bring him up, but Jack was quick to jump in with his previous knowledge of him as well, and quickly gave his 2 thumbs up approval. The guy sings with passion that just oozes soul. Hopefully he won't be cheated from many more years of great music ie SRV, God rest his soul!

Thanks, keyser Soze. Saw SRV 6 times total including the night before he died in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin.
Don't really attend live shows much anymore--except our local blues fest and other, outdoor music stuff around the area--but if this kid is nearby, I'm going to make an exception for him.
