Easily the most important slate of games of the season. And one greatly looked forward to by yours truly.

Of course the highlight of the weekend is going to Dallas and drinking massive amounts of beer and washing down fried food. This year's fair winner is Fried Cookie Dough ....has to beat last year's fried coke, although I am more interested in the new fried peach cobbler to go along with several corn dogs and of course a fried peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwich.

It is always important to watch what you put down the hatch, because with Mack Brown and Greg Davis at the controls you know it's coming back up.

The good news is maybe I wont care quite as much because hopefully I will have already cashed my largest play of the season. And later in the evening a game I had cicled but a little pricier than expected. But thanks to my friends in Austin, you get 3 treats.

Kansas Jayhawks (4.5)
Oklahoms Sooners (3.5)
Missouri Tigers (3)

I am loving Kansas and OU,why is Kansas getting points:shrug:

Kansas has played the weakest schedule in division 1, plus they have yet to play on the road. I lean to Kansas in this spot, but do not feel they should be favored on the road in this matchup. GL

Are you hearing anything about Fran stepping down early? I read it at a fan board earlier.

Sun, a little surprised at your Cowboy pick. Was
leaning on A&M, now backing off. Sooners will be
my biggest play of the year. Spread will not come
into play. I take that back, Sooners will be my
biggest play of the year when A&M comes rolling
into town. GL2U this weekend :toast:

Surprised you like Kansas as well... being a Jayhawk alumni, I know we haven't covered in Manhatten since 1993 maybe? Not even sure we covered that game, but we lost by a point so I'm guessing we covered.

Basically the Jayhawks appear to be a different team this season, but their track record in Manhatten is gawd awful.

Sun, OU should be your biggest play of the year so far. It's like free money. No way the Sooners don't cover against our Longhorns. I am locking and loading on OU big-time!

Not a big play for me...I just know OSU will score alot on them and as bad as OSU defense is they only have to play run defense.

As you probably know I hate to play big chalk, but Tech and OU should absolutely throttle AM. But for my vested interest and being such a big rivalry game OU might be a bigger play. I just cant see Texas coming close to winning that game. There is alot od dissension on the team....they could well implode.

Sun, what do you see in my boys to make it your biggest play of the year?

Honestly, I was shocked by the opening number. I thought it would be KSU by somewhere in the 4.5-6.5 range.

I think the 3 number is kind of begging for some K-State money. That said... it's pretty common knowledge we've played the worst schedule in D-IA, we have been awful on the road, we have a terrible history in Manhattan, the Wildcats have revenge factor, are coming off a huge win, and are more talented (even in my tainted view).

I love thatwe have been rolling and had a bye week to prepare, but was just curious why you like KU enough to make it such a big play.

I will say I am thrilled... THRILLED!... to have a QB that wont kill us with mistakes. Reesing is as good as advertised. He is the first QB I have been comforatable with since Wittemore.

I heard that Fatgina told the team if they lost he would go on a diet. No chance he let's them lose with that much riding on the outcome.

Not trying to hijack Sun's thread, but it just won't happen. This is wishfull thinking. His contract will be bought out after the season is over .

I think he is gone after this season. AM now investigating hoping to find dirt to argue it is firing him for cause and negotiate a cheaper buyout.
