I've been following this pretty closely around here.
The latest I heard this morning was 'Cuse and Miami almost definitely. Miami has been mentioned all along, so that fits with what Fletch said. But I'm just going by local sports reports in B-more.
Then, they were talking about BC or V. Tech. UVA would like to have a rival, so V. Tech would be nice. Also, if you have Miami and FSU, they would almost have to be in the ACC-South, so we'd need a team in the ACC-North to compete for the College Football championships. That would be V. Tech, I suppose, though you'd still like to see FSU-Miami for the conf. championship.
Basketball wise, Cuse would be a nice addition. This is going to mean that the ACC tourney isn't held in NC every year. Next years is already scheduled for the MCI center (DC). It also means the loss, probably, of all the home-and-homes that have made ACC Hoops so good for so many years.
Anyway, I think all this is great for the ACC, foots and hoops. Destroys the Big East, but shoot, in football NO ONE was fielding a team to play with Miami EVER, ANYWAY.
As an ACC fan, I'm glad.
