The Mets check in with the best pitching staff in
the majors, but the one weak link so far has been
today's starter Mike Pelfrey (-$340, 6.75 ERA in
four starts). He gets one more try today to keep
a place in the rotation, this time against a solid
Arizona hurler. Livan Hernandez has posted a
3.55 ERA in his first six starts, and the Mets
have been ineffective vs. righthanders in day
games (only 2-5, -$605). The Diamondbacks
have had a tough time with New York in this
series, but making them an underdog at home
given the pitching matchup is hard to figure.
Look for the home team to salvage a victory
in the final game of this four game set.
