I have no idea if this video will post or not, it's not the one from this morning but same concept. Anyway, it brings back some excellent memories of great times but I always think of the time Jaek, Rolltide, and I were fortunate enough to kick it for a weekend and we were able to spend an afternoon doing a little bass fishing and having a few beverages..... you know...... not doing anything super extraordinary or anything like that, just dudes day at the lake.
As most of you know, I have been n [ enough to spend countless days/years bass fishing. Oftentimes competitively or in practice for a competition, sometimes as a guide, but almost always with someone else in the boat. Usually they are friends and when we're just out there for fun, it's always memorable. But for some reason that day always comes to mind when I'm running down the lake. I just recall it as being a beautiful day, peaceful, and for anyone who has spent any time whatsoever hanging around either Jaek or Rolltide you already know, for those of you who haven't had the opportunity to do so.... you aren't going to find two better, more genuine people be around. There's plenty of people right here at Madjacks that would make a seamless transition into the same scenario who are just as bad ass as anyone I'll ever know, and even more I haven't had the chance to meet I'm sure. Every person I've met from the MJs community is someone I can't wait to see again. I'm just saying, I'm happy for the memories I have of my friends, all of them, every memory, every friend. I have a fantastic life. I'm not wealthy, can't eat whatever the fuck I want and not gain an ounce. I have literally kicked apart a Toro lawnmower in my front yard because the gas went bad and it wouldn't start. I'm not proud of it but, fuck that piece of shit Toro. If but another used one today just to kick it apart in my yard again...... piece of shit. Fuck that used Toro and Christopher Reeves. They're both lucky they died before I met em, but I digress. I have my faults. I also know that as I've aged I've grown more appreciative of my life as a whole. My general condition and outlook on things is totally different than it was in 40 years ago. I'm so much .... happier and consequently nicer, than I ever remember being and I truly believe it's because of days and friends like the one afternoon spent with my friends Jaek and Rolltide.
The funny thing is, I had no intention of writing all this shit when I posted the video. I really just wanted to make the comment about messing up my hair and shit because that's a Jaek quote about the boat ride. I don't know how I got here but I have arrived nonetheless and I am glad that I posted this and I hope my friends read it and leave the post secure in the knowledge that I am forever grateful and inspired for and by them. I always talk too much and too loud, but not so much this time. Only because I can't say enough to fully express how lucky I am to have my life been made better by the greatest friends. What's that stupid fucking shit woman say when they post a picture of their dog fresh from the groomers..."my heart is full" I think. Yeah well fuck that, love you my brothers, you all know who you are, you fuckers are the shit. Happy Memorial day boys. I got a tour of the the Sleepless in Seattle set I have to get ready for in a couple weeks.
