give me one reason not to slam the Jays tonight.

O's have one scoring inning in the last 37 and facing a hot pitcher and a team with a load of motivation to win this game. O's can't wait until the season is over and go home for time with family, fishing, golf, whatever. O's could give a rats ass about the rest of the games.

Jump on board baby! The Jays would love nothing more than to wrap this baby up tonight (with a Yankees loss), and party on the Camden Yards Field. They had to watch Baltimore celebrate the division last year after losing 8-2 in Camden. Stroman has looked phenominal so far.

Good luck to you.

I too like the Blue Birds tonight Boss but a couple of points should be noted. Marcus Stroman has faced the O-Birds just once & that was last year under different circumstances. It did not go well as he allowed 5 earned runs on 9 hits in 6 innings of work. Also, Baltimore starter Miguel Gonzalez has a 7-2 lifetime record against Toronto. Still, looking at tonight's game & the situation I'm POUNDING the Blue Birds as well!!! :yup

Good Luck MJ!!! :0008

Just played them myself....O's have packed it in. Losing that close one yesterday made it worse for them today.

Do or die for all of us today....GO JAYS!!!

With a postseason spot already secured for the first time since 1993, the Blue Jays have plenty at stake in their series against the Orioles. The Blue Jays are looking to wrap up the American League East and eclipse the Royals for home-field advantage in the postseason.

Still, pride is on the line for Baltimore, and the Orioles, who weren't able to successfully defend their division crown, certainly don't want to see the Blue Jays celebrating at Camden Yards.
For Tuesday's game, the Orioles plan to activate right-hander Miguel Gonzalez, who has recovered from right shoulder tendinitis and hasn't pitched since Aug. 30. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he would like to see Gonzalez finish strong after battling the injury.

I'm not saying the Jays don't win tonight, but I will give some reasons why not to slam them as you requested.

First of all many of the O's players are playing to get a better contract, so they are going to be trying to increase their worth by hitting, fielding etc. It's a what's in it for me attitude.

Secondly, unlike basketball where many players touch the ball on every play, baseball is such that playing with emotion does not enter into the outcome as significantly as other sports since a player will on bat 3-4 times a game and touch the ball just a few times a game. In other words, for example the right fielder may not have anything to do with the game for 5 innings or more, other than come to the plate one time.

I have no horse in this race so good luck on your play.:toast:

Appreciate the feedback and I certainly don't think it's a lock but I have to play it whether sharp or square. Like last night, I played the Jays early at -130 only to see the line drop all the way down to -105 and even +100 at some shops. It was discouraging but I doubled my bet when it hit -105 and just rolled my eyes when the O's took the 3-1 lead. That's exactly what I was afraid of but fortunately everything worked out.

Your point about the players playing to earn a better contract and playing as individuals instead of as a team makes me want to play the Jays for even more. It's still a team sport and they all are there to help motivate each other.

With all this said, the O's will probably beat them good tonight and I'll be licking my wounds tomorrow.

Good luck.

If they don't win tonight go back to the well tomorrow. Over the last 40 games this team hasn't lost 2 in a row too many times. Sit back, relax, and let the Blue Birds bring it on home:toast:

Sounds like a lot of folks are on the Jays, may as well make it an IN GAME thread.

The game may have to be cancelled since there is rain in the forecast for game time and it just gets worse as the evening goes along.

This was from a live report from the ballpark just seen on tv. :0corn

So there might be a double header tomorrow?

Question: if you clinch the Division in the first game of a double header, do you celebrate with champagne? I think you have about half an hour between games.

On the course!
No chance I would risk a bet on them with this weather front. What if he gets an inning or two and that's it?

They aren't going to get this game in. I doubt they start it.
