Great idea Dogs:

Then who in the hell is going to work at 7-11 and Subway? Don't penalize the 7-11 cause of 9-11. Crap(s).

By the way, spoken like a true fundamentalist Christian. It continues to amaze me how you right wing Christians can make statements like you just did yet continue to profess this belief in the bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Although I am not a believer, didn't he say something like love your brothers and turn the other cheek or something like that. I don't recall him saying don't let the Philistines into Judea. Your isolationist thought iprocess is rather, shall we say, anti-Christian and quite draconian.

You are one major league rationalization.

Edward For your information I am a Christian--went to Luthern grade school (8 years)but haven't been inside a church in probably 15 years. So don't try and put the the religious extremist tag on me.

Have to chuckle everytime I see you dissing people and trying to assert they are substandard-illiterate or not up to your standards.
--but lets look at your standards and mentality by your own admission. You,my friend, have to go to meetings and counciling because you can not remotely break even on 50/50 propositions--ie wagering on sporting events.
Do you happen to know profile of that type on person---
Unable to make judgemental opinions-unable to seperate fact from fiction-unable to control ones emotions--and failure to recognize ones limitations.
----and YOU are giving out advice and dissing others :142smilie

and on your question--
"Then who in the hell is going to work at 7-11 and Subway? Don't penalize the 7-11 cause of 9-11. Crap(s). "

Wait till the conservatives get finished with their legal reform--I think there will be plenty people to fill those jobs--;)

you hit the nail square on the head...

if islam is so beautiful(and it may well be,i`m not an islamic expert),why do muslims flock to the u.s. and europe in droves?....

why,if their way of life, which revolves totally around their religion,is so beautiful....so peaceful....so preferrable do they flock to the western cultural centers that they despise?.....or resent?....or disagree with?......

maybe because western cultures allow diversity....maybe because totalitarian, religion dominated societies by there very nature stifle progress....

maybe because deep down many muslims would like to step into the 21st century...

for some strange reason they come to the west to better their lives....

they dislike us....dislike our customs and value systems....yet,the very fact that they emmigrate from their homelands when they can,to come here, speaks volumes...

maybe deep down they don`t really hate us...maybe they wish they were like us....or were us....

we are very, very lucky to be here....to live in a progressive western culture........very lucky...

Amen to that gw. Sometimes we forget how good we have it. I'd think those from other countries would appreciate, rather than run down the U.S. IMHO. For example:

IN BRIEF / SAN DIEGO
Filmmaker Caught Up in a Foreign Drama

From Times Wire Reports
An Oxnard filmmaker has become a central actor in a police corruption drama unfolding in a Mexican beach town about 20 miles south of San Diego.
Lex Miles, 41, says all he wanted to do was film young Americans on spring break in Rosarito Beach, Mexico. Then opportunity knocked ? quite literally ? on March 26, when city police officers came to the door of the house Miles and his crew were renting. As a camera secretly recorded the action, the armed and uniformed officers entered the house about 4:30 a.m., rounding up Miles and his friends and asking about drugs and underage girls.
According to Miles, the officers agreed to leave only after he handed over $6,000 in rolled-up $20 bills. The eight-minute video does not show any money changing hands.
Rosarito Beach Mayor Luis Enrique Diaz Felix went on the offensive in recent days, suggesting that Miles may have provoked the incident

There maybe many comeing from India. Pakastand if they can get in. You wont find to many from Iran, Syria, Yeman. Even Saudi. So I dont know where those long lines are except at the Mexican border. Those that want to come from old Europe they have limits on. I guess we have to many Germans, French, Russians, Poles,
Cheqs, Italians,an so on. The ones that came here and built this wondeful place to start with. That and all the slaves they brought in from Africa. Why limits on all these countries.
Sounds Like Bobs book is on the up and up. I thoguht it would be he has wrote many and they all ways seem to stand the test of time.

sounds like bobs book is on the up and up, once again you evidently are not listening to all the news.

today alone 3 people he quotes or attributes to saying things from which he will not disclose who his sources are call him a flat out liar as they said no such thing ever was said or what woodward says simply didn't happen.

now I know the liberals and bush haters will immediately defend and believe this "journalist" with a agenda even though he does not have to prove if his info is made up or true.

But anyone with an ounce of common sense or intelligience will believe the actual person being written about or defamed.

just more typical left wing election tactics AND TO TOP IT OFF kerry the fairy and other top democrats are quoting from this book in speeches like it is the gospel. These people get more and more outrageous each day.

They are pathetic and so are you djv for coming in here a making a dumb ass staement like that:nono:

CTG, just a question but why is Kerry a fairy? I remember last election when Bush tried to discredit McCains service record. Now the right is trying that tactic with Kerry again. Before this is over Sean Hannitty and that blonde slut Colter will have the Right Wing ditto heads thinking Bush was the war hero!

His records are released and have been for sometime. There is a difference between actively serving and ducking the draft as the Bush boy did. All Bush did was release papers that said he got paid. No one ever questioned the fact that he took money for his "service."

"John Kerry...You decide

I know nothing about "Swift Boat" tactics so I can't judge the veracity of this letter. Maybe a more knowledgeable classmate can shine some light on this. It was forwarded to me by a high school classmate, USNA grad ('59) and Rear Admiral (Ret.)

Sent to me by an old shipmate....

I was in the Delta shortly after he left. I know that area well. I know the operations he was involved in well. I know the tactics and the doctrine used. I know the equipment. Although I was attached to CTF-116 (PBRs) I spent a fair amount of time with CTF-115 (swift boats), Kerry's command.

Here are my problems and suspicions:

(1) Kerry was in-country less than four months and collected, a Bronze Star, a Silver Star and three purple hearts. I never heard of anybody with any outfit I worked with (including SEAL One, the Sea Wolves, Riverines and the River Patrol Force) collecting that much hardware so fast, and for such pedestrian actions. The Swifts did a commendable job. But that duty wasn't the worst you could draw. They operated only along the coast and in the major rivers (Bassac and Mekong). The rough stuff in the hot areas was mainly handled by the smaller, faster PBRs.

(2) Three Purple Hearts but no limp. All injuries so minor that no time lost from duty. Amazing luck. Or he was putting himself in for medals every time he bumped his head on the wheel house hatch? Combat on the boats was almost always at close range. You didn't have minor wounds. At least not often. Not three times in a row. Then he used the three purple hearts to request a trip home eight months before the end of his tour. Fishy.

(3) The details of the event for which he was given the Silver Star make no sense at all. Supposedly, a B-40 was fired at the boat and missed. Charlie jumps up with the launcher in his hand, the bow gunner knocks him down with the twin .50, Kerry beaches the boat, jumps off, shoots Charlie, and retreives the launcher. If true, he did everything wrong.
(a) Standard procedure when you took rocket fire was to put your stern to the action and go balls to the wall. A B-40 has the ballistic integrity of a frisbie after about 25 yards, so you put 50 yards or so between you and the beach and begin raking it with your .50's.
(b) Did you ever see anybody get knocked down with a .50 caliber round and get up? The guy was dead or dying. The rocket launcher was empty. There was no reason to go after him (except if you knew he was no danger to you just flopping around in the dust during his last few seconds on earth, and you wanted some derring do in your after-action report). And we didn't shoot wounded people. We had rules against that, too.
(c) Kerry got off the boat. This was a major breach of standing procedures. Nobody on a boat crew ever got off a boat in a hot area. EVER! The reason was simple. If you had somebody on the beach your boat was defenseless. It coudn't run and it couldn' t return fire. It was stupid and it put his crew in danger. He should have been relieved and reprimanded. I never heard of any boat crewman ever leaving a boat during or after a firefight.

Something is fishy.

Here we have a JFK wannabe (the guy Halsey wanted to court martial for carelessly losing his boat and getting a couple people killed by running across the bow of a Jap destroyer) who is hardly in Vietnam long enough to get good tan, collects medals faster than Audie Murphy in a job where lots of medals weren't common, gets sent home eight months early, requests separation from active duty a few months after that so he can run for Congress, finds out war heros don't sell well in Massachsetts in
1970 so reinvents himself as Jane Fonda, throws his ribbons in the dirt with the cameras running to jump start his political career, gets Stillborn Pell to invite him to address Congress and Bobby Kennedy's speechwriter to do the heavy lifting, winds up in the Senate himself a few years later, votes against every major defense bill, says the CIA is irrelevant after the Wall came down, votes against the Gulf War, a big mistake since that turned out well, decides not to make the same mistake twice so votes for invading Iraq, but oops, that didn't turn out so well so he now says he really didn't mean for Bush to go to war when he voted to allow him to go to war.

I'm real glad you or I never had this guy covering our flanks in Vietnam. I sure don't want him as Commander in Chief. I hope that somebody from CTF-115 shows up with some facts challenging Kerry's Vietnam record. I know in my gut it's wildy inflated. And fishy. "

Scott I don't know if you read my assertions on matter couple months back but almost identicle. Below is interesting article today on subject. While reading about purple hearts remeber that a contusion is none other than a bruise and bacitration is ointment applied to minor cuts-scraps and bruises.
--Also in your above statement the man forgot to comment on Kerry's bronze star which was reported for pulling wounded man on his boat. If that is a justified qualification I know medics over there that should have had 10 or more bronze stars in a single day.

Article from this afternoon.

stevie, I've had this said to me so many times, it's nice to tell your ass to get all the facts. Please go beyond the left wing elitist big 4 and you'll find out about what Bush released albeit over a few weeks but it all got out and how a reporter from the Boston Globe that great liberal rag on top of it, was denied any further records other than those already released that makes the lying asshole kerry look like a hero.

Even kerry's own commanding officier is disputing the metals kerry so called earned.

My War
By LARRY DAVID

LOS ANGELES

I couldn't be happier that President Bush has stood up for having served in the
National Guard, because I can finally put an end to all those who questioned my
motives for enlisting in the Army Reserve at the height of the Vietnam War. I
can't tell you how many people thought I had signed up just to avoid going to
Vietnam. Nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, I was itching to
go over there. I was just out of college and, let's face it, you can't buy that
kind of adventure. More important, I wanted to do my part in saving that tiny
country from the scourge of Communism. We had to draw the line somewhere, and
if not me, then who?

But I also knew that our country was being torn asunder by opposition to the
war. Who would be here to defend the homeland against civil unrest? Or what if
some national emergency should arise? We needed well-trained men on the ready
to deal with any situation. It began to dawn on me that perhaps my country
needed me more at home than overseas. Sure, being a reservist wasn't as
glamorous, but I was the one who had to look at myself in the mirror.

Even though the National Guard and Army Reserve see combat today, it rankles me
that people assume it was some kind of waltz in the park back then. If only.
Once a month, for an entire weekend ? I'm talking eight hours Saturday and
Sunday ? we would meet in a dank, cold airplane hangar. The temperature in
that hangar would sometimes get down to 40 degrees, and very often I had to put
on long underwear, which was so restrictive I suffered from an acute vascular
disorder for days afterward. Our captain was a strict disciplinarian who
wouldn't think twice about not letting us wear sneakers or breaking up a poker
game if he was in ill humor. Once, they took us into the woods and dropped us
off with nothing but compasses and our wits. One wrong move and I could've
wound up on Queens Boulevard. Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to find
my way out of there and back to the hangar. Some of my buddies did not fare as
well and had to call their parents to come and get them.

Then in the summer we would go away to camp for two weeks. It felt more like
three. I wondered if I'd ever see my parakeet again. We slept on cots and ate
in the International House of Pancakes. I learned the first night that IHOP's
not the place to order fish. When the two weeks were up, I came home a changed
man. I would often burst into tears for no apparent reason and suffered
recurring nightmares about drowning in blueberry syrup. If I hadn't been so
strapped for cash, I would've sought the aid of a psychiatrist.

In those days, reserve duty lasted for six years, which, I might add, was three
times as long as service in the regular army, although to be perfectly honest,
I was unable to fulfill my entire obligation because I was taking acting
classes and they said I could skip my last year. I'll always be eternally
grateful to the Pentagon for allowing me to pursue my dreams.

Still, after all this time, whenever I've mentioned my service in the Reserve
during Vietnam, it's been met with sneers and derision. But now, thanks to
President Bush, I can stand up proudly alongside him and all the other guys who
guarded the home front. Finally, we no longer have to be embarrassed about our
contribution during those very trying years.

Larry David, who served in the Army Reserve in the 1970's, appears in the HBO
series "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

CTG funny how Bush likes this book. It makes him look good in enough spots that it must be ok. And what the right do. Come up with two maybe three hot spots they dont like. What the hell thats all they got to bitch about out of over 300 pages. Tell them boys to stand up once and be counted and stop running from the truth. Dont try to tell us all that O'Neill and Clark and now Woodward are all out to lunch. Thats to much BS for anyone to believe even you. What do you need. Powell to step aside. And say yes they made me look like a fool in front of the world at he UN. Yes our CIA director should have had his ass canned about a week after 9/11. And just maybe we can give Bush a pass here and go right to Cheney.
