The game is on ESPN. Maybe he breaks it tonight.

He is batting in the bottom of this inning.

Ties the record. The game is on ESPN. Maybe he breaks it tonight.

Barry Bonds hits number 754 off of Rick Vanden Hurk to pull within two of Hank Aaron. The Marlin pitcher put the ball the one place you don't want to as Barry had a free swing at it. As the inning ends the score is now Giants 2 and the Marlins 1.

My bad. Still exciting. Thanks for the correction.

Record is bogus.

this is a complete joke & is a reason why i haven't watched a baseball game this year.too bad that mlb has a commissioner who's not awake. anyway i think bond's "accomplishments' will be erased from the record books in years to come....i hope..

The hating on Bonds is so tiresome.

Nothing is ever going to get erased. How many other guys have been on stuff since the at least the 80's.

How many of the pitchers that Bonds faced were on stuff too?

Aaron never had to face any juiced pitchers....but surely Bonds has in his time.

Unless you want to wipe out all baseball stats & championships say from 1981 till 2007, you are nothing but a Bonds hater. You cant pick and choose based on your personal opinions. Again Bonds has never tested postitive. I know the means nothing really, but as of right now that is the standard MLB uses.

MLB is more to blame for all this then Barry Bonds, by looking the other way for so long & not policing their league & its players. Its their responsible to stay on top of the health & fairness of their sport.

They were too caught up in strikes & lock outs for the past 25 years.

As nasty as this sounds....

What is needed here is a string of high profile deaths, WWF style. The leagues didn't care, many of the current and former players don't care, and many in this forum don't care. That will straighten out many a poor train of thought on the subject of roids/HGH. I'm not indicting all players. Many players and teams openly wanted testing for enhancing drugs. The players on some teams intentionally flunked the guidelines 1st set so that the league would test more. If I remember correctly, some players (Frank Thomas) would have happily been tested by the media while other worthless POS's (Sammy Steroid and F'Head Sheffield) said they would take a test at any time only to run like bitches when someone called their bluff (see bitch squarepants).

Maybe what is needed here is to "cull the heard". Let them take all the crap they want. Even give it to them for free. Let them die young. We could apply this to cigarettes/hamburgers/pot/all drugs as well in my world. Find a way to tax all of them more.

At the end of the day, as I've stated before, I really hope this whole Bonds HR record thing turns into a horrible sideshow. The worse the better. The better on Selig's watch and for a sport that turned it's head away. They deserve each other. 1st things 1st, I want the NBA to become a memory, like hockey.

As for me.....

I'm going to color my hair, spike it, and get into golf.:00x22

The most ridiculous part of this entire thing is that this is exactly what the public, including everyone of yourselves asked for for the last thirty years. I double dog dare anyone to come in here and say that for as long as they can remember they have been going to baseball games to see 1-0 pitching duels, or that you ever paid to go see a guy like Mark Grace who couldn't hit a home run unless the wind was blowing at fifty straight out. Gimme a fuchkin break. The public clamors for for big hitters and towering home runs. If I am paying damn near $200 to go see a game anymore you think I give two rats asses if the guy has a hairy pimple for a head? Hell no. Let me ask all of you this, how many of you think that Hank Aaron was not aided by illegal drugs? He readily admits he used amphetamines on a daily basis as did Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays has admitted it, you know why.....They weren't illegal at that time. Did that give them an edge? You betcha?
Another thing since when did any record become hallowed ground or sacred??? Its just a number for chrissakes. Does 756 make anyone more or less of a man? Would it be okay if A-Rod broke it because nobody thinks he uses anything to give him a competitive edge? Oh no thats right, he just makes too much money for everyone to like him. You all want the owners to benefit from outrageous ticket prices, gouged food prices and all that. Somehow people think that the players salaries drive up ticket prices too. My God people are you all that fuhking naive? Nolan Ryan juiced for fifteen fuhking years for goodness sakes. Charlie Hustle bet on baseball whaaaaaaa. Baseball purists my ass, hypocrites in the purist sense of the word. Every swinging dick on this forum will use every competitive edge, legal or not, to get what they want out of life, whether it be a better job, hotter wife, more money or a gadamm bigger penis for fuhks sake and you honestly expect me or anyone sane person listen to you bitch when players make too much or juice when you all do the exact same thing just on a smaller scale. Get over your damn selves. Its a stupid fuhking game that means absolutely nothing in the long run and this is what you...........YES YOU, asked for all along. Christ.

On the course!
Who fuking cares?

I give a shit about Hank Fuking Aaron, too. Who the hell is that bitter asshole, anyway? Barry Bonds should be proud of the fact that he is the ONE asshole in baseball who could make anyone give a shit about Henry Aaron's record falling!

Christ allfukingmighty! Bobby Bonds must be turning in his grave!

If any other player in pro ball was sitting on 754 we would be having a party that they were about to break Cranky Hank's record! This clown acts like the world owes him something, and has been that way forever! Yeah, I know you came up hard in Ol Alabamy, and that was more than cause for a big chip on your shoulder, but give it a rest already.

So, when Barry finally hits 756, maybe ESPN will finally swallow that load they have been trying to suck from him for two fuking years, and we can watch both of those guys fade into the celluloid sunset............

Love him or hate him...

The level he is playing at, now at 43 years old is unparalleled. Maybe his home run records are tainted, but the pure talent of this man is fun to watch.

He is clean now, and is still excelling against guys much much younger than him.

A 43 year old putting up 25-30 home runs in a year, and keeping a high average, MLB leading On-Base percentage, top-tier slugging percentage etc..... It's pretty amazing.

That all being said, I can't wait until it is over, so the 5 year ESPN circus can end. They just are bad journalists.
