I'd have to say at least 250 times.

I was 8 years old when I became a huge baseball fan, that was 1963.

I also had a very close relationship with my grandparents who lived fairly close to Memorial Stadium.

Anyway, my grandfather was a Baltimore City policeman and he was in the traffic division. He was in charge of parking at Memorial Stadium during Orioles games. During the summers as a kid I stayed with them a lot and even on weekends during the school year.

My grandmother and I would ride with him to work and he let us in the stadium. It was free and we pretty much sit where we wanted but we had our favorite spots. Around the 4th inning granddad would come sit with us until about the end of the 7th inning, we'd stay the entire game and a good bit afterwards.

When he was finished work we rode home with him. Sometimes we'd take the streetcar or bus home.

Great, GREAT memories. Man, I'm actually tearing up right now.

I'd have to say I saw at least 25-30 games a year between 1963 and 1973.

I remember the time Boog hit an inside the park homerun. I was listening to Chuck Thompson call it on my transistor radio. They had to take Boog out of the game after that one. :mj07:

Many nights sitting in my bedroom listening and PRAYING that Boog would hit the HR and the O's would come back and win.

Boog was probably my favorite Oriole for quite a few years.

I have his badge that he wore all those years as a cop. Of course it isn't worth anything but you'd have to shoot me dead to take it away from me. It's in my safe. :0074

Very cool.

This is kind of different but I have my ex father in law's WW2 memorabilia and ribbons and such. Has pictures of him liberating a couple camps and some Nazi staff car flags and such. He had already had a couple strokes and was in the Indiana state veterans home when I met him. He had great difficulty with his speech, but I was fortunate enough to spend a good amount of time with him before he ultimately passed. Going through his stuff and his life's memories was too much for my ex, Mary. That dude audio recorded and later filmed every weekend he ever spent with her and kept all the tapes and reels. Was an amazing man.

A lot of people don't realize that he was a Cleveland Indian for a couple of years near the end of his career in the mid 70s. Another Baltimore great, Frank Robinson came over as a player/ manager and wanted Big Boog in Cleveland. They wore those bright red double knits at the time and Boog looked like a giant tomato out there.
