goal line stand at the 2 minute mark(1st and goal at the seven)...then a 15 yard penalty on the defense on the kickoff and tulsa went down throwing for the end zone.....

i don`t know what you`ve been doing during bowl season, mon frere, but you should bottle it and sell it....

truly impressed by your bowl game prowess....

now i need more points(tulsa and over teaser pending)...

bowl record now is 14-5 after hitting the 1st half under in the gmac bowl....will press my luck with a play in the championship game...

play # 24.....

fla.-3(130)....

although i think fla. will win this game by double digits, i still feel more comfortable buying the line down to 3....

i am well aware of the type of teams fla. & okla. played this year...& since these teams didn't play a common opponent, it is pretty hard to compare the stats of these teams...but i did find what i thought was some interesting info....

the okla. offense set a record by scoring 60+ in 5 consecutive games at the end of the season......but here are the defensive rankings of the 7 teams that okla. played....102, 87, 72,114, 66,118, & 95...considering that there are 120 schools in div.1 football those defenses are close to awful.....they had had their least productive offensive stats against the 2 best defenses it saw this season by scoring 35 points against texas (defense ranked #51) & 35 against tcu (#2 ranked defense).....fla's defense is ranked #9....

like okla, fla. also had gaudy offensive numbers during the latter part of their schedule......over the last 7 games, fla. averaged 51 ppg....here are the defensive rankings of the last 7 teams that fla. played......3,13,11, 29, 28, 38, 36...okla's defense is ranked #63....

on defense, fla. has a 80 ypg defensive edge over okla when looking at the defensive numbers of these 2 teams.......the fla. defense also held 3 of their final 4 opponents to season lows or 2nd low in yards.....

it appears that fla. has a pretty big edge on special teams....fla. is ranked #11 in the country in special teams, while okla. is ranked #105 & has allowed 4 kickoffs returned for tds...but they did kick-off 20 more times than any other team.....

with stoops as coach, okla. is 7-27 ats (20.5%) when the team allows 27 or more points (fla. averaged 45 ppg against other bowl teams this year)......

recently bcs bowl teams, like okla that allow at least 22.4 ppg are 0-8 su & 1-7 ats in bowl games....

bcs bowl teams that scored 35 or more in their previous game (okla) are 11-25 su / ats (30.5%) in their bowl games.....

and as i posted earlier, teams where the heisman trophy winner plays are 8-24-1 ats (25%) in their bowl games....

should be a great game....

good luck

ALWAYS look at your stuff and really appreciate the time you take for writeups. Helps in my own decisions. Another fine season with a great finish.

thanks for the props guys...appreciate it...

i got the following from a very good capper from another site....& thought that some might find it interesting....

A quick look at how the BCS National Champion finished in total defense this decade:

2007: LSU (3rd)
2006: Florida (6th)
2005: Texas (10th)
2004: USC (6th)
2003: LSU (1st)
2002: Ohio State (23rd)
2001: Miami (6th)
2000: Oklahoma (8th)

Only once this decade has a national champion finished lower than 10th in the nation in total defense, and that team (Ohio State, 2002) was No. 2 in scoring defense.

Florida: Total defense (9th) Scoring Defense (5th)

Oklahoma: Total Defense: (63rd) Scoring Defense (57th)

good luck

I'm glad you posted that. Lou Holtz pointed out the very same thing on ESPN this AM and I couldn't remember the "exception" so I didn't post it. Should be fun.
