3-2 Bowl Record... can't really complain as Southern Miss & Navy were lucky covers.

East Carolina +11 for 10*
East Carolina +7 1st half for 4*

Boise is awesome on their smurf turf, but they aren't much when they leave home. Tough spot for the Broncos as they're 3-11 ATS their last 14 when laying double digits away from home.

4-2 Bowl Record... tonight's game is tough to handicap IMO.

Central Michigan has enjoyed unbelievable success @ Ford Field as they won their last 2 MAC title games and a bowl game last year in Detroit. However, Purdue completely dominated the Chippewas in September... please remember at the time, Central Michigan was coming off a humiliating loss to Kansas a couple week prior and still getting adjusted to a new roster. I believe Central Michigan has greatly improved since early in the season, but I think Purdue has gotten worse. Central Michigan is playing @ their 2nd home tonight and should have a lot of fan support as well.

Admittedly, Purdue has more talent and better talent on the line of scrimmage. However, I can't see the Boilermakers getting sky high for this game after they clobbered the Chippewas early this season. On the other hand, CMU will be sky high knowing they have a great opportunity to prove they can play with a BCS conference team.

Central Michigan ML +275 for 3*

I think CMU has a great shot at the SU win, but will focus my wagers on the point spread.

Hey man, great start on the bowls so far.....need to pass along the thanks for that info on the ECU-Boise game....that stat of Boise as a dd fav away from home was all the nudge I needed for that one.....would have posted a thanks earlier, but I was away from home and could not remember my MJ password, so I could not log in and post!! :142smilie

Anyway, nice work so far, thanks for the winner the other night......and, wow, gutsy call in advance tonight, thats for sure.....not seeing much CMU love on this board yet.....but underdogs usually go on a roll in the post Xmas, pre-New Years Day bowl action.....gotta wonder how motivated Purdue is going to be tonight. If the team is anything like their fans, the answer is not so much. Of course, I base that on the small group of PU alums who are among my best friends. None of them are excited for this game at all.

Glad I could help get you on East Carolina the other night. It was an easy win as the Pirates were very motivated while Boise was sleep walking for the first 35 minutes before making a huge rally.

I'll admit this game is tough to handicap as a motivated Purdue club could beat the crap out of CMU again... however, if wagering was that easy, we would all make tons of money just betting the obvious every night... as you know, it's not!

CMU only gave up 10 points to Miami, Ohio their last game on this field and I see their defense being motivated tonight.

Also, the point spread on this game opened at Purdue -10 and is now 7.5 or 8 with most gamblers backing Purdue??? I think it's obvious the wise guy money is backing Central Michigan which probably gives them a 60% shot at covering IMO.

Most of the touts and betting public will be taking Purdue... most of the sharp bettors will be backing Central Michigan... we'll see what happens, but I can understand why people like Purdue.

You also have the Covers fade involved as they make this game sound like a layup with Purdue. They show Purdue and then mention Central Michigan's 111th ranked pass defense...

Big Papi - I wrote down the opening line weeks ago and it was Purdue -10... not sure where you got -4, but if one book had -4, this would have setup an awesome middle opportunity.

Going to revise my bowl record to 4-3 in the 1st quarter... my pick on CMU is a real loser... not sure the last time I saw an offense score 3 TD's on 3 plays, but Purdue made it happen during the 1st quarter.

I took CMU 2nd half, but didn't have to post... feel lucky to have CMU as a winner as this game had woodshed in the writing early. Too bad I couldn't cash the ML CMU... really felt they should have gone for 2 late in the game. They also scored way too quick with their soft defense.

I also wrote the game as a loser early hoping for the jinx!

Bowl Record now 5-2 ATS on sides... sharps have their day getting a winner with CMU!

I can attest to the CMU 2nd half play. A wise man advised him. Victory is so sweet when you pull out a wrong side ATS winner. That is why mindset is so big in these Bowl match-ups. The athletic mismatch was huge. CMU QB and maybe one receiver were the only CMU players that would start @ any average BCS school.

I'll admit, I was torn trying to pick a side, but the line just dropped at one of my offshore books by a half-point and I'm going to jump. Neither team impresses me defensively, but the total is high enough that I could see this game falling under the total as well... would 31-24 surprise anyone? Texas has the more dynamic running game and the fact Arizona State gave up 50+ sacks and didn't really beat anyone significant this season makes this a play on the Horns. I've also seen way too many people backing Arizona State because they're ranked higher and getting points...

HELLO? Do you think the oddsmakers are idiots... they're setting a trap and everyone is falling for it. Texas has far more talent and should win this game if they show up ready to play. I'm guessing Texas will be motivated since it's a bowl game and they have a shot to knock off a solid Arizona State team that only lost to USC & Oregon.

Neither of these teams beat anyone solid this season, but Texas has far more talent on paper and should prevail tonight IMO.

Joe Public will be backing ASU since they're higher ranked and getting points. Don't be Joe Public.
