1. Has Jones lost a step?:142smilie

The answer to this one seems obvious, after Jones' devastating losses to Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson. Clearly, he is not the dominant fighter he was at his peak. But in comeback bouts against Prince Badi Ajamu and Anthony Hanshaw, Jones demonstrated that his vaunted hand speed, at least, remains.

But what about the rest of his arsenal? How is his footwork? Is he able to move smoothly around the ring or is he rooted to the spot? If it's the former, expect him to be able to use angles to outbox Trinidad; if it's the latter, expect him to stand in front of Trinidad and trade.

How does Trinidad carry the weight?:SIB

The consensus is that Trinidad is unlikely to be able to outbox Jones. If he is to beat him, the thinking goes, it is going to have to come from a power punch to Jones' suspect chin. But Trinidad has never fought at 170 pounds before. Will the extra weight enable him to bring extra power to his punches? Or will he be out of his depth at the weight: a welterweight in a light heavyweight body? Will he look sturdy and strong? Or will he appear hefty, sluggish and slow?

3. Can Trinidad cut off the ring?:shrug:

At times, most notably in his lopsided defeat to Winky Wright, Trinidad has seemed almost robotic in his movements. He has, on occasion, shown a tendency to simply follow his opponent around the ring. That's one of the reasons he has sometimes fared poorly against accomplished boxers. If Jones has even a modicum of lateral movement left in him, Trinidad is going to have to do better than that. He's going to have to cut off the ring, and ideally trap Jones in a corner or against the ropes. If he can't do that, he could be in for a miserable night.

4. If the fight goes into the later rounds, who benefits, or suffers, most? :142smilie

Each man is promising an early knockout. What happens if neither boxer's prediction comes to fruition? Trinidad has been out of the ring more than two years and is fighting at a weight 10 pounds greater than he has ever done, and 16 to 23 pounds above his peak.

According to his father, however, even to reach that weight he had to drop 30 pounds. Will he have the necessary stamina if the fight gets into the later rounds? Conversely, Jones is fighting at his lowest weight in 11 years. Will the effort to make that weight prove draining? Will he be able to fight at the same pace for 12 rounds if necessary?

5. What about the crowd?

Six years ago, before Trinidad lost to Bernard Hopkins, this was considered one of the biggest fights that could possibly be made.

Although they have been reduced in recent days, ticket prices were initially through the roof, with front-row ringside seats being offered for an astonishing $15,000.
..............................................................

Anyone that would pay 15k to watch this fight in person would have to be nuts, unless they had
alot of cash riding on the over . :SIB

Obviously you're not as young as you used to be ? none of us are. Does that affect your training methods at all?

RJ: No, man. What really helped me this time was training with a guy who's pretty good, and he kind of helped me pick out soe of the small problems I had been having, so it made it really good.

This is the first time I've been able to properly prepare in a long time. I was able to work on my legs, work on my movement and work on my defensive staance. I think was really a blessing in disguise because I've been able work on things I haven't been able to work on.

FOXSports.com: Why Tito Trinidad and why now?

RJ: He asked for it. That simple. It wasn't my choice. He asked me, so of course I'm not going to turn it down.

FOXSports.com: Does the fact he hasn't fought in 2 1/2 years affect the way you approach the fight?

RJ: No, because last time he took off two years he came back and fought against Ricardo Mayorga and he looked better than I'd ever seen him look. So sometimes taking a break serves you well.

However, I just don't think he knows what he's getting himself into this time.

FOXSports.com: What challenges do you think Trinidad presents to you?

RJ: He's just got a strong punch. He's got a strong left hook and a pretty decent right hand. He's a strong puncher. That's all he's got. He's a very strong puncher.:142smilie

FOXSports.com: Why do you expect to beat him?

RJ: Because I'm a stronger puncher.:mj07:

FOXSports.com: Obviously, you've had a legendary career. What more do you want to accomplish in your career?

RJ: I just want to get myself back to performing at my nromal capability, my normal style, my normal old Roy Jones Jr. self, and I'm good.

FOXSports.com: What should fans expect to see on Jan. 19 when they tune in?

RJ: The old Roy Jones. The showin'-up-havin'-a-good-time-razzlin'-dazzlin'-dazin'-you Roy Jones that we've grown to love back in the day.
............................................................

They should expect to see a boring 12 rounds with flashs of the past to keep the multitudes happy.

thanks SixFive

In the year 2008 I have decided that I
probably should step it down a notch. Be a more
humble individual. Not toot my own horn so much when I win. Stop being such a attention ho and just post and win. Be more accepting of others and their feelings.

The sneer is gone from KOD's lip; his teeth are clenched in hate;
He pounds with cruel violence his bat upon the plate.
And now the pitcher holds the ball, and now he lets it go,
And now the air is shattered by the force of KOD's blow.

Oh! somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light.
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;

But there is joy at Madjacks --

KOD just knocked it out.
