That's why people don't give a shit about the NHL for the last 25 years.

Bullshit, then why was last years Stanley Cup playoffs viewed by more people than the World Series? Because people don't care about it? Maybe you don't care about it, much like I could give a fuck about pro basketball and baseball, but that doesn't mean others don't.

The fact remains that the NHL is, and has been, dead. Period.

Wrong again moose breath. If it were dead than I highly doubt that there would be a Blackhawks Bruins game being televised on a Sunday morning in place of football on national television. I doubt they would be building bigger and bigger stadiums and expanding teams into new and old markets. Unlike baseball where large market cities can't support a team due to lack of interest. It's the last pure sport in the U.S. and while I understand you don't like it and probably don't have it playing on your Sony Trinitron, you probably should start thinking about it. Hockey doesn't have the problems other sports does. You don't read about hockey players being banned for life due to cheating.

That's why there were over a 105,000 people at the Winter Classic and over 8 million TV viewers.
NBC has increased viewership every year since 2005. I have my Glass Tiks already for the NCAA regionals in St Paul. :00hour
The people that don't give a shit about the NHL are simpletons as yourself that do not understand the complexity of the game and the multiple talents it takes to play it.
Stick to your BoreBall and the GangBanging NBA , you deserve that garbage...
Now get in your Shriner Buggy and deliver my mail!
Oh I forgot, you have ANOTHER DAY OFF for MLK Day..

Shut the fuck up one time. Who give a shit about the Winter Classic? How many fucking names do you need in this place, by the way? The WC is a carnival. It's not indicative of the sport as a whole. And were talking about the NHL, not the quality hockey that gets played around the world without the stupid fighting, or in the NCAA. I love watching good hockey!

Thank god the olympics is just around the corner, so we can be treated the sport without the needless bullshit of assholes acting like pitbulls on skates.

Why is it the same guys who play in the NHL and have to fight every night, can play International hockey and not fight?

The NHL is the bell cow of International Hockey and while I agree about the Winter Classic being somewhat of a sideshow, the "pitbulls on skates" isn't a really a fair assessment. Fighting has been part of the game since long before you became a fan. I can recall maybe two fights this year off the top of my head that the Blackhawks have been involved in. That is my team and I watch them every game so that is why I am speaking of them as they are the team I have the most knowledge of, and it helps that they are the reigning champions. I understand that some fights get out of hand, however, last night's fiasco is generally the exception. Fighting has been greatly reduced in recent years, but the NHL is hands down the best hockey in the world.

Hope this helps,
FDC

You need to stfu. Again your are spouting about something you know ZERO about. I've played for 30 years, 2 state championships, brother played for Michigan and grew up and played with the Johnsons and Suters. I have a clue.
International hockey is a different style of play due to the size of the ice surface and the fact most Euro players are finesse players. Get on the ice and I'd put your stupid fat ass through the glass.
Fighting is a aspect of the NHL and if you don't like it take your pussy, plant it in your Wiggles chair and turn on the Nickelodeon for your entertainment.
The NHL is the only sport left w/o a Prima Donna falling down hurt after every play looking for attention.
We don't want Sallys like you trying to pussify the greatest sport in the world.
Stick with Water Ballet or Rythym Gymnastics as they suit your type of manliness!

Is this statement true about viewership? Damn, that is amazing if true to see where Baseball has fallen to.

Not nationally, but worldwide by a large margin yes. However, World Series viewership averages about half of what it did thirty years ago. From a high of somewhere around 37 Million in 84 to around 13 and 15 million in the last two years respectively. Baseball is rife with lazy players, drugs, poor ownership, expensive games, criminals, and corruption. That is what I believe is it's downfall.
