One of my favorite days of the year. This is the 1st Breeders I've had off from work in 5 years! Gonna sit back in the comfort of my home watching and wagering on every race. Here are my selections and thoughts.

Race 3: Juvenile Fillies

Dreaming of Anna Best Bet- Speed figs only getting better. From the post should be able to dictate the fractions and breeze to the winners circle. Cash Included, Her Majesty & Octave will most likely be her top 3 competitors with Quick Little Miss having a shot to close fast and hit the board at BIG odds.

Plays:

Excata #1 on top and bottom of the 3,4,6,10,&13 Winner

Win & Place on #1 Winner

Pick 3 1 / 3,9 / 2,3,6,9,10

Mully, we think alike - Breeders Cup day should be a holiday cause it would be one of the best. Enjoy it, I sure will.

I'm more of a favorite player, but I am coming up with heavy duty Longshots in almost every race. In the races I'm listing - I like my longshot better than the favorite. Only problems I foresee is from OTHER longshots. I suggest doing a lot of wheeling and dealing with small exactas. Here's what I got so far:

5th BCFM turf : Mauralakana gets the call here at 15-1 M.L. this filly is showing a feel for racing in the states. Connections, workouts, post, and more are pointing me to this one fersho.

6th BC Sprint: Posting 2 cause they're sooo pricey - #7 Nightmare Affair and #13 Attilas Storm. YES, I really did go over this race closely and come up with these two. Would consider Place action on them also because of the odds. Don't forget the Sprint has one of the worst favorite winning records. Gotta believe the two favs. will run their asses off only to get smoked in the long Churchill stretch.

8th BC Distaff: Ok, here we go again - # 5 Lemon's Forever (M.L. is 30-1). Tellin ya, this one is NO LEMON. But, she will need a clear path in the stretch. Too far out of a pick? Then give #6 Spun Sugar @ 10-1 or #13 Happy Ticket @ 12-1 a look. Jockey on SS and post for HT is why they are not my top pick. Be careful of the LEMON though.

Good luck and enjoy the races, Mully!

Race 4 Juvenile

Circular Quay seems to be the best of this group, but I will lean towards Scat Daddy with the favorable post and slightly better speed figures to get to the winners circle today. Both trained by Pletcher and I wouldn't be surprised to see both hit the board. Pegasus Wind is the best value at 15-1 M/L odds and could also find a piece of this.

Plays:

Exacta #3 on top and bottom of 2,4,5,6,7,9,10 Loser

Win & Place on #3 Missed board - 4th place finish

Race 5 Filly & Mare Turf

This is always a hard one to figure out. Make book on one thing. The winner will be from over seas. I think the best of that group is Ouija Board. This mare should win this race ,but don't like the price. I will look for value and go to the outside post of Satwa Queen. This is one of those races the horse you leave out for exotics always gets in their to ruin you ticket.

Plays:

Win, Place & Show on #9 Missed board - Should have sucked it up and bet the heavy chalk.

Race 6 Sprint

Ah yes... the fastest 6 furlongs on the year! I can tell you this. Henny Hughes is a monster! The only thing that scares me is the history of big favorites getting gunned down at the wire. That being said, I also like Malibu Mint & Siren Lure Both of these show the ability to stalk and come with a late run. Long-shot warning- Lewis Michael.

Plays:

Exacta #4 on the top and bottom of 3,6,8,9,10,11,12 Loss

Pick 3 3,4,6,11,&12/ 3,6,13/ 7

Picked all the wrong longshots..Tote board will LIGHT UP!

Race 7 The Mile

Fun on the turf! Again, look for a foreign horse to pull off the victory as they dominated on the grass here yesterday. Very tough to choose just one out of this group, but with a favorable post and In my opinion an upgrade in riders, I'll take Araafa Best Bet to stalk near the lead and draw off down the stretch. This pony has been knocking noses with one of the best turf horses of the year George Washington. No GW today (running in the Classic). Hard to ignore the Saeed bin Suroor entries Echo of Light and Librettist. One or both have a good shot at hitting the board.

Plays:

Exacta #3 on the top and bottom of 6,7,10,11,12,13,14

Win & Place on #3 Missed board

Great to see you got one of my other picks listed. Yeah, it's a longshot:

4th Race Juvinile - Pegasus Wind gets the nod.

Sorry if I intruded in your thread, but I liked your holiday idea right off the get go and I know exactly what you mean about getting the chance to sit back and enjoy a day of TOP NOTCH racing. I won't be going into your thread again. But, I do hope some people take a second look at that "Lemon" horse I mentioned.

Actually, I never intended to post any of my picks in MadJacks, but once I got in here it just happened I guess. Like you, they ain't off the top of my head, I studied the PPs real close like and have seen some of these actually race..

Good luck, Mully.

Race 8 The Distaff

How can you go against Fleet Indian? Best Bet Answer, you can't. 6 for 6 this year and with those speed figs should make it 7 for 7. Will hope to get some value out of Balletto from the far outside post. (finished 2nd to Fleet Indian past two starts). Pine Island could be the strongest challenger from an inside post with Major stalking ability. Long Shot alert Lemons Forever. won the Kyoaks on this track back in may.

Plays:

Exacta #7 on the top and bottom of 1,2,3,5,6,9,10,12,13,14

Win & Place on #7 Missed board

You're not intruding in my thread. This a great day of racing and I enjoy the banter. Best of Luck to you today Jimboski. I do have Lemons Forever as one of my keys on the top and bottom of Fleet Indian in the Distaff.

Race 9 The Turf

Another turf race , so I will be putting a foreign horse on top. Believe me, these invaders are in a class above. I hate to do this but I have to put Hurricane Run Best Bet on top of any other in this field. Morning line favorite, but for good reason.Only missed the board once and is 8 for 13 lifetime. For any of you who follow racing, you should be familiar with a turf horse by the name Pride. In the 5 lifetime races Hurricane Run did not win, Pride was running in all of them hitting the board each time. No Pride = Winners Circle today. One would be a fool not to put English Channel in the mix and their could be an over lay on Better Talk Now that could = Long-shot Alert This one will be flying late.

Plays:

Exacta #7 on the top and bottom of 2,4,6,8,9,10,11

Win & Place on #7 pulled up

Late Daily Doulbe 4,7,9 / 3,8,11 paid $191 and had it 3 times!!!!Winner

Race 10 The Classic

The Grand Puba baby! Who will beat Bernardini? I think 3 horses have one hell of a chance, but Bernardini Best Bet is the Class of this field. So much talent in this race and it's very hard to throw anyone out. That being said, I think George Washington, Lava Man & Invasor are the only REAL challengers for the top horse in the nation.

Plays:

Exacta #3 on the top and bottom of 4,8,11 Winner

Win & Place on #3 ( only if even money or better) no bet but did place...

That's the card boys! Good Luck and good racing....

sure did! Tough Juvenille race....Didn't have any part of Street sense, but I doubt many did. Put a damper on my early pick 3. I've already placed all my wagers for the day, so gonna sit back, sip on a couple Captain Morgans (only in moderation) and Hope for some more winners!

GL on the rest of the card!
