...that in the Mike Tomlin era (2007-present), the Steelers have the following record on MNF:
13-2 Straight Up
8-7 ATS
6-8-1 O/U
The O/U stats being less relevant since many Steelers games used to lined in the 30's pre-2013
Tonight's total (55) is by far the highest during this time span on Monday Night with the previous high being 49 in 2016 -- that game went over.
The glaring record is Straight Up and the thing I noticed is that many of them were close wins, with a few blowouts due to a dominant defensive performance at home. This will most likely not be the case tonight.
The two losses in 2013 & 2011 were low scoring affairs in which the offense failed to produce with Roethlisberger playing in both of those games (high attempt/yardage games with an imbalanced rushing attack).
Without actually being able to confirm, this may possibly be the HIGHEST POINT TOTAL IN A STEELERS GAME IN HISTORY. I checked back on all their totals going through the 2015 season (when the modern rule changes started favoring offenses, QBs and WRs more) and the previous high was 53 on December 17, 2017 (Week 15, Sun. Afternoon) vs the Patriots in which they lost 27-24 as a 2.5pt underdog at home.
Please note, this information is specific to the Steelers under Mike Tomlin and with Big Ben as QB.
