see those red states and counties Mr. Kosar?

thats where most soldiers are made

they are tough, bad ass Americans who dont need any liberals' pathetic pity and have too much pride to sit at home on welfare

they raise families with traditional values and make ends meet by working hard

they are self-reliant and not government reliant

they fight for the country and not for the UN

they dont like politicians who pander to them nor other countries

they like and identify with guys who go back home to the ranch for vacation rather than those who go windsurfing in Nantucket

they like and believe in justice and plain language instead of the hot air that comes out of trial lawyers and most politicians

thats why they are conservative and thats why you liberals will never be able to understand these folks because you simply cannot relate to them

they are the reason we win these wars whether it be in Normandy, the Pacific, or Baghdad

It's sad that if you truly don't have hate in your heart for others that oppose your viewpoint then your writings and attacks on others seems to not back up your love for fellow man. As can be seen by this thread that when someone disagrees with your stance then you will resort to name calling, which is pretty typical of Conservative folks. I have read previous threads where you have downgraded the black race, gay people, etc.. .

how about your tirade about Christians?

how can you call someone hateful and identify yourself as loving your fellow man after bigoted remarks against Christians?

That's hilarious, Freeze. How long did you serve in the military? Oh, right.

Believe it or not, not every poor, inner city young man and young woman sit around on welfare. Many, many of them are in the military.

Also, I served two years under Bush 41 and two years under Clinton. In those 4 years, i'm not sure that I heard one word, good or bad, about either of them. Frankly, nobody gave a shit.

Dr. Freeze

My so called tirade about Christians is not a tirade against the masses but against the folks whom are corrupt and lead these poor sheep to slaughter. Nothing wrong with being a Christian, but not everybody wants to be told that they must worship and foloow the Christian belief and unfortunately that is not the viewpoint of many right wing wacky christian leaders. This country is a melting pot and neither your religion nor mine is the one that all most believe in!

If we wanted to chart this, it would go rather simply, you guys. American lives lost in Kosovo? None. American lives lost in Iraq? 1500 and counting. Democracies established after Kosovo? At least three. (Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia) Democracies established after Iraq? Not yet one (and it's moving toward theocracy).

Madness of King George: Bush on Dope
by URI DOWBENKO, July 31, 2004

Alcoholism, cocaine abuse and incessant lying has taken its toll on President George W. Bush.

According to reports by Capitol Hill Blue, Bush is taking powerful drugs to control his depression, erratic behavior, and paranoia.

White House physician Richard J. Tubb is giving Bush these drugs, which aides admit "can impair the President's mental faculties and decrease both his physical capabilities and his ability to respond to a crisis."

Uh-Oh. How scary is that? Also repeated incidents of Bush falling off his couch and off his mountains bike attest to the powerful effects of these prescription drugs.

During several of Bush's latest public addresses, it was noted that his eyes were glazed and he exhibited markedly drugged behavior.

On July 8, Bush walked away from reporters, refusing to answer questions about disgraced Enron chief Ken Lay, a fervent financial supporter who funneled millions of dollars into Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. political campaigns.

Bush reportedly screamed --?Keep those mother****ers away from me. If you can?t, I?ll find someone who can.?

Psychiatrist Dr. Justin Frank, in his book "Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President," wrote that Bush was a ?paranoid megalomaniac? and ?untreated alcoholic." This is known in Alcoholics Anonymous circles as a "dry drunk," someone who may not be drinking, but whose mental capacities are seriously diminished.

Before he became US President, George Bush was also known to be a cocaine addict, even though this problem was successfully covered up by his media handlers like Karl Rove, who leaked part of the story to the late Jim Hatfield, author of "Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the Making of an American President."

?President Bush is an untreated alcoholic with paranoid and megalomaniac tendencies,? says Dr. Frank.

Frank's diagnosis would explain Bush's behavior, as well as the irrational War on Iraq boondoggle.

Coupled with Bush's bizarre religious beliefs, his actions as President are an ironic replay of the Madness of England's King George III.

The Madness of President George W. Bush must then be seriously considered as a logical explanation for his heretofore inexplicable behavior.

MC,

It's near impossible to get these guys to talk about Kosovo. I've tried, believe me.

You will never get them to give Clinton credit for halting genocide and establishing democracies without losing a single American life.

You will hear crickets chirping when this one comes up.

nothing like the ol' "how long did you serve in the military?" line

as if that qualifies anything you say thereafter

similarly to you liberals, not every person is some poor, disenfranchised individual with nowhere else to go

this line is overused ad nauseam

Kosar,

Thats too bad, hey they should give the guy credit where credit is due. When he was President I pretty much had lukewarm feelings for him myself, but the further we get away from his time the more appreciation I have for his work, especially when compared to Bush Jr. I feel the same way about Ronald Reagan, the guy was a winner and as time passes his accomplishments are amazing. I would like to be proud of Bush Jr, but other than 9/11 what has he done to warrant appreciation? Perhaps I am wrong and maybe when he leaves office we will be able to stand back as time passes and say look at all the great this man has done for the country, but I just dont see it happening.

Well, having been in doesn't qualify 'everything' thereafter, but certain things, yes. Especially compared to someone who maybe knows a couple reservists in Texas or South Dakota and uses that as a sample.

What can I tell you, Freeze, there were and surely *are* tons of kids from the inner cities in the military. Presumably the military being the best option for them. That whole thought probably kills you since as we all know, people from the blue states and from the city are all lazy welfare recipients.

Wrong. They're the backbone of the military right alongside the poor farmers kids from Nebraska. It's quite an interesting mix and it's not black and white, as you like to paint everything.

Yeah, it's something else. All we hear about is that Bubba sat on the military and about Somalia. Kosovo, one of the greatest military accomplishments in a long time gets no play at all. Not even a begrudging, 'yeah, that was ok'....lol

Kosovo, yeah, that was okay. :)

We haven't had a circle battle like this in a while. These threads always make my head hurt.

Kosar you are correct. When I was in basic it surprised me how many guys were just from the middle class or lower. Black,White,Green what ever. It did surprise me how many blacks were there considering the high percentage of Americans were white. And they were just as good as us white boys. In fact tough as hell to beat on the obstacle courses. Some tough S O B's I was glad were on our side. I know so many like to paint other pictures. Remember Im talking 1960 when Americans still treated Native Indians and Black Men like they were dirt down South. But they still joined. Not everyone could stay home in college and hide.

sorry i missed a few

" guess I can assume these are true
Most big businesses that deceive investors and lost millions for retirees are Conservative

Most Preachers who preach monogamy but that have sex with hookers in hotel rooms are Conservative

Most Life Insurance Companies that swindle old folks by deceiving them on the cash value of their Universal life policies are Republican contributers

The largest homosexual political group is a major contributer to the Republican Party

Fact, most radio talk show host whom commit felonies to obtain illegal narcotics are CONSERVATIVE"

Preachers don't know much about that and wouldn't know where to look--same on the radio talk host as I only kinow of one
However I see little what either have to do with liberals/conservatives existinting without the other.

"Most Life Insurance Companies that swindle old folks by deceiving them on the cash value of their Universal life policies are Republican contributers"

Would agree most ins co are conservative but need you to elaborate on the deception---but on your statement---
"Sort of figured you were in a shady field such as insurance"
I do not like paying premiums any more than anyone but there may come a time in your life "hopefully" that the risk of losing what you own is too great to cover yourself and you are left with the only other option of transferring that risk to someone else--eg Insurance company.

Log Cabin is largest gay political group---
Could be but I doubt it--your proof

--and on looking down on blacks and gays issue
I'll respond in the morning--

The party is of little consequence--I have never voted a straight ticket in my life--I am conservative however and would have hard time voting for liberal--however many dems are not liberal and there are Rebs that are not conservative.

DJV a little on myths of Viet Nam War--
http://www.vietnam-war.info/myths/

On the gay/black issue
I'll put it this way
If gay was walking down street minding his business and was jumped by gay bashers I would come to defence of the gay.
If I was on beach and parent confronted gays about playing grab ass in front of his children and fight ensued I'd come to defence of parent.
on blacks I am in Crosby corner--I look at the #'s not P.C. idealogy.
When you have 70% of children born out of wedlock--over porportionate criminal per capita ect--there is prob that needs to be fixed from within. There are many that have went on to success and need to be applauded--having people like NCAAP and liberals making excuses in advance for failure is not way to solve issue to my thinking--an approach of those that are successful instilling that everyone can do it is much more productive in my view.

On this insurance issue---
Here are my gripes on ins industry.
Life Ins
My pet peave is you have many that are not informed on aspects
of life ins and may pay on policy for 20 years and decide theydon't need it and quit paying premium. They are not aware that they have cash value built up. What happens in many cases?
Company will not inform them that they have cash coming but use cash value to continue to pay premiums. This will be done till cash is exhausted.Policyholder is not aware policyit is in force and if he died while it was, would not file claim.
Close to stealing in my view.
I might add and I will get lots of arguements from agents--but I have seen few life policies I would classify as investment. My view is keep your ins and investments seperate.

P&C
Not too adept in this field but have seen many in mudslides out west complain about ins not covering risk. When you build in those areas many companies refuse to cover those risk because of area. Bought place in Destin FLA years ago and had 5 seperate policies to pay--fire-flood-wind storm ect.Had corners been cut would have not collected when Opal hit. Have friend that builds down there and when they go to buy ground 1st thing they do is check to see if property CAN be covered at all risks in that location. Mant people still build in those areas knowing some risks won't be covered then whine when it hits and they aren't covered. When you build in those areas YOU assume those risks.

Health
Just got 3 group renewals in for month of May.
One a Dentist office had only 4% increase--Not many like that.
One a research company 11% increase-bout ave
One a gas station 41% increase--and here is where my bitch lies.
Gas station owner had major heart surgery last year hence the increase. The prob I have is I think risk should be pooled across the board--and all statewide go into pool and have same rate increase collectively.
This small business in now in jeopardy of unaffordable premium--and individual with problem would have hard time obtaining ins elsewhere now.Not right in my view.

on premiums in general of ins.
Most premiums have actuarial reasons for increases--free enterprise will keep rates competetive as possible.
Case in point life ins premiums have decreased yearly sharply in last decade due to better mortality factors-(people live longer)--little litigation involved (your dead or your not) little paperwork(you have one claim at best in lifetime) Blood and Urine pre screening--much better and eliminating the uninsurables.

I am serious Matt--and I'll go one further if Fletcher (Reb Gov of ky) runs next time I will vote for anyone (practically) that runs against him.
He has done squat--pissed teachers of over health care issues--and is # 3 of govs in worst attendence records.
