Alot of speculation about Kansas St will be tired from playing the double overtime game yesterday.

It may affect the guards some but I think they are going to have their hands completely full with the Butler Bulldogs.

I love getting the extra points here because I think this one is going to be close throughout.

Butler playing in Salt Lake City again is huge to me as their fans will pack it out. Not that the crowd matters in the final outcome, but it helps.

I think Butler has the better coaching staff. I like Kansas St interpretation of Bobby Knight, but he really is rude with the players with his screaming.

Regardless of the opponent, the Wildcats (29-7) would be in for a challenge, needing to gear back up after a double-overtime, 101-96 victory over Xavier

Almost to a man, the K-State players admitted they got very little sleep after the game.

"I just laid there staring at the wall," said Jacob Pullen, whose two 3-pointers and two free throws helped put the game away in the second OT.

Acknowledging his team's exhaustion, Martin said Friday's practice was devoted more toward mental and emotional pursuits than running kids ragged.

Its not the tired issue that concerns me about Kansas St but the emotional one.

Lets face it they almost lost about 10 times in the Xavier game.

The other downside I hold against Kansas St is they lost to Kansas three fawking times this year.

Seems like they could have figured out how to beat them at least once. :scared

Got to love the tradition of Hinkle Fieldhouse , home of the Hoosiers. Talk about tradition. Butler practices there

As draining as the Wildcats' double-overtime win over Xavier was in the West Regional semifinals on Thursday night, Pullen said his thoughts were racing too much for him to fall asleep. Pullen just stayed in his hotel bed, remembering what he and the Wildcats had just done and could still be on the verge of doing.

Kansas State plays Butler on Saturday in the regional final. A trip to the Final Four is on the line, so multiple overtimes and near-sleepless nights really don't make much of a dent in the fervor the Wildcats are feeling.

The second-seeded Wildcats had to withstand Xavier's rallies at the end of regulation and the first overtime before finally winning 101-96.

"I didn't sleep much," Kansas State coach Frank Martin said. "That's where Sunday is right around the corner. I'll sleep a lot on Sunday."

The Wildcats knew that they were at a slight disadvantage by having to play two overtimes in the late game Thursday after the Bulldogs had already advanced and were back at the team hotel watching the Wildcats outlast the Musketeers. :00hour

"I know that I love watching games like that from the couch on TV - not on the sidelines," Martin said. :scared

Martin said he was looking at Butler tape until about 3 a.m. as he and his assistants tried to learn all they could in a very short window between games. :SIB

Butler hasn't lost a game since December and having won 23-straight, they're probably feeling a bit invincible. Butler was able to shut down Syracuse's 8th ranked offense, so Kansas St's 10th ranked offense will be chopped liver. None of the Bulldogs NCAA opponents have scored more then 59 points.

Shelvin Mack, G - 14 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg

I've put Mack in this spot for all their games because he's the one guy that really makes the Bulldogs ticks. Against Syracuse, Mack was a dreadful 1-10 from three.. yet still was huge in the win with 6 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, and overall leadership. If he actually heats up from the outside against K-State, look out.

Butler surprised me with the way they completely shut down Syracuse, but Kansas St is a more well-rounded team that will be harder for the Bulldogs to plan for. The winner of this game will have a very good chance in the Final Four against whoever comes out of the Midwest regional.

Jack

Glad you got the win with the +4 points.

At the 60 second mark the score was

Butler 60
Kansas St 54

So I was sitting on 68 to 54 and a 12 point lead.

Fawk I was drinking a sasaparilla and twiddling my thumbs

I hate it when its that easy :00hour

PS - when I take a dog and add the points is that a chalk eater ?

Or a dog eater ?

Either way I win :SIB
