Nice job making this thread political

Sorry kick. Fucking thieves we have running this country to line their pockets pisses me off. It wouldn't be okay, but would be much better if they came out and said that they were going to steal your money. At least the people would know where they stand.

The biggest problem is the idiots that can't see the forest for the trees.

Money makes life easier...less stressful. I think this affords people more chances to experience things that make them happy. I don't think that a lot of money will make an unhappy person happy though. Look at wealthy, older people. Their skin, appearance etc- they usually look years younger than they are and not because they've had plastic surgery. Stress wears on the human body and having money many times means less stress.

Making money/ running a business = stress

Those people you talk about either had money passed to them or have someone doing their dirty work for them.

I run a small business and experience the stress that goes along with that. I also am fortunate to do pretty well. The stress is much less when you feel like you are well rewarded with a higher income.

no one lives without any stress.

Money doesn't equal happiness, it can't buy happiness. This doesn't mean rich people can't be happy. I used to do a lot of humanitarian work when I was younger, and I worked in a lot of very very poor communities. I lived in Africa for 6 months and lived with different families there. I can say this with confidence: I have never been around happier people than these extremely poor people, who had little to nothing. Perhaps it could be chalked up to cultural differences, but I think that too much money can also lead to obsession with materialism and having too much stuff can be very stressful.

A wise man once said, "A rich man has many problems, a poor man only got one"
Maybe it was Pres. FDR, or maybe Run DMC

I always say I would never want to win the lottery. I want to earn my money, not have it given to me. Once you have money you start to try to keep up with the Joneses, and you never will because you both will go bankrupt.
Credit Cards

I heard somewhere ours is the first generation that not only do we not save at ALL, we spend 103% of our income!

I think it is funny, at least where I am, it is the people that act like they have money are the ones that don't and the ones you least expect are the ones with it.

Great video kick, thanks.

It's easy to be happy when your IQ is 70. See any 'special needs' classroom.

Money can't buy happiness, nor are humans made to be happy, but it can make a hell of a lot of problems go away, and that's good enough in many cases.

I'd say that humans are born to be happy but life is what changes that. Thus the reason for happiness in childhood that diminishes over time with age.

Wow, dude! So you read "poor" and "Africa" and automatically deduced that their IQ is 70. That's just mind-numbingly sad AND wrong. Perhaps bleedinqpurple's quip about the KKK username wasn't too far off. YIKES!

And although it is highly unlikely that anything could alter what appears to be a narrow and racist mindset, I still suggest that you travel outside of your "comfort zone." There is a great big not-so-scary world out there that doesn't necessarily revolve around Caucasians.

As a side note, it appears that you are probably right about MLK and plagiarism. A seasoned colleague states that rumours about his plagiarized dissertation have circulated for a while, but she doesn't think that it takes away from his value to society. And Dr. Clayborne Carson responded to my e-mail fairly quickly. Interestingly enough, he does not absolve King of plagiarizing right off the bat, but instead states the following: "I've written extensively on this topic, including in my most recent book, Martin's Dream, which I urge you to consult."

So yeah, if you're right, which appears to be the case, what I find most troubling is that they didn't rescind his doctorate regardless of when they found out. All PhDs should be rightfully earned!

Peace! :)
