Kind of late but...
Playing many games in NHL is hard because of the heavy juice. Going 3-2 might still mean a losing nite unit-wise.
With dogs you only need to be around 50% to make $$ but making more plays means you need more dogs to hit. Is it reasonable to expect 3 dogs out 5 plays to hit? Possible yes, but likely...probably not.
Now let's say you just play 2 games. 1-1 you lose a bit with faves and win a bit with dogs. 2-0 and you're smiling. 0-2, well it's not your day and if your top 2 plays lost, adding 3 more plays probably isn't a good idea.
I'm just using 5 games and 2 games as an example. But the point is, playing more is IMO more difficult. Isn't there a saying that no matter how hot you are, if you sit in a casino long enough...you'll end up losing it back. Casinos aren't afraid of you winning, they're afraid you won't stay long enough or come back.
Speaking of which, I was at casino today. Small bankroll of $400. First shoe is up and down and then they switch dealers. This GORGEOUS blonde sits down and starts dealing. Right away my luck changes and I'm up $375. At this point I should've walked away because an almost 100% return is better than anyone could ask for playing blackjack. Well, I keep playing for the sake of gawking at this dealer, and I also wanted to see how long this hot streak would last. Sure enough, she started pulling cards and I started losing. So I stop right there while I'm still up 200.
