But it sure looks like Texas-Ohio State winner v USC again. Pretty hard to see any losses there and nobody like an unbeaten Louisville or West Virginiai is gonna jump them.

Maybe we can wait until everybody plays a varsity program before we decide. Ohio State won't get through the Big 10 undefeated and Texas won't get through next week undefeated.

To me the two key games are Texas vs Ohio State and USC vs ND....I hate to say it but Penn State is going to get rocked by ND next weekend.

As long as the Irish and their hype machine are not in the title game I'm fine with it.

Yeah Just like last year. Looked like I could run on Ohio State's defense.

There isnt a loss on USC's schedule. They will be one of the team's. Cal showed they are a fraud and ND's defense will have no chance against USC.

Texas and Ohio State should run the table after the matchup but are certainly capable of losing, especially with a frosh QB at Texas.

biggest surprise of the day was tennessee. not that the vols won, but that they did so with such ease. probably a case of cal being ranked at all, much less ranked 9th. they probably will finish the year unranked, but still a nice impressive win for the vols. the victory was much bigger than 17 points.

ohio st. looked like a machine for 20 minutes or so, then coasted or ran all their plays for the year and got stuck. who knows, but they definitely have all the offensive pieces, just whether or not their defense will suffer to much from their losses of the offseason.

can't judge anything by texas win. their true test is against ohio st.

usc was impressive, but no matter how much hype you give arkansas pre game they suck.

auburn could throw a wrench in everything, but even an impressive win over the cougars doesn't mean all that much.

i think tex/ohio st. winner plays usc/nd winner.

Hard for me to see Auburn going unbeaten. But if they do they are gonna be screaming because it will be 2004 all over again.

Vols were very impressive. Like you said...Cal was a fraud. But Phat Phil deserves some credit.

So. Cal
Hard for me to see Aubrun going unbeaten, SC or ND going unbeaten, and I think the winner of OSU/Tex still has a very tough slate, except texas looks a bit easier now that oklahoma is a fraud.

Can't believe nobody is counting on the winner of louisville/WV game in NC because they will most likely be undefeated and WV is already #5 in the polls-they dont have very far to go to leap over ANYBODY.

Plus Miami/FSU/VT are all contenders but will prolly kill themselves and end up in bcs and a couple decent bowls

an undefeated west virginia team could conceivably get shut out by a one-loss power conference team. wvu's schedule is that pathetic, even though the mountaineers are damn good. louisville has the luxury of having miami on their schedule and that gives them a legitimate argument if they can run the table.

btw- usc just dropped the quietest 50 pts ive ever seen. that was looking like a boring game when it was 3-0 in the 2q. trojans just erupted in the 2h.

blg who is gonna beat USC? not gonna be a Pac 10 team. That leaves ND and Nebraska both in LA.

That just isnt happening.

I cant see why everyone thinks Loisville will beat

Miami:nono:

Oregon looks like a tough game for USC maybe even UCLA

Texas plays at Nebrasksa at Okla and at T.Tech

I think Ohio st. loses to Texas or Iowa

SEC kills each other off

Lots of possibilities nothing is a given

USC has got their good faciilatator.

Booty looked good in his debut. The offense is just going to flow nicely all year.

USC's defense created a lot of offense too which will be huge

So. Cal
I have had ASU circled on my calendar since last year to beat them outright.
I think Nebraska stands a good chance, Cal stands a good chance, Oregon stands a slight chance, and ND stands a good chance(even though they didnt show me much tonight)

Yeah SC will be favorites in all those games, but I just dont buy into the SC hype like alot of people out here do. That being said, I definitely lower my expectations of upsets on SC schedule after seeing how they played tonight, but like you said Ark sucked. I was laughing at myself since I have been touting the Ark defense, true they returned 19 starters, but even returning shit, still smells and most importantly plays like shit(just more experienced)

PS (by out here I mean in SO CAL)

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
OK, here is my two cents:142smilie

Notre Dame will be there at the end, and I expect them to take USC down at their house(Im sure most including Tzu think Im nutz) But it will play out in the next three weeks.................

Ohio State will probably run the table:SIB

The Big Twelve Sucks, sorry guys:shrug:

West Va, can easily be there, but Miami looms, Gman is right, but Im not sure unitil after Monday:sadwave:

SEC is up for grabs as usual:shrug: Lets face it, whoever is hot and at home wins these, so I dont want to go thru the schedule right now, but I like the Vols, and not Auburn:scared

Watch out for:
Florida
Wisconsin
Minnesota, wtf:mj07:
Oregon
Pittsburgh
Louisville
and the rest?............>LOL

So Cal
USC looked good. Better then I thought they would do for sure . Once the OLine settles in ,the penalty's should be much lower in the future.
the Def. played great. If they continue to improve during the season they will be very difficult to defeat. Nebraska will be tough
huskers DLine is top notch. Maybe the best USC will face TY.

OSU looked solid but vanilla(Texas on deck )
The Def. left something to desire

N.D will have at least 1 loss this month

Louisville has a great chance to be Undeafeted

Florida St will regain dominance again this season

The National Championship is up for grabs
& everybody still has a shot... except for Cal

I agree with virtually everything you have to say here BDB with the exception of your take on Tennesse being a surprise.

Auburn has the easiest SEC schedule in memory with (in no particular order) Florida, LSU, Arkansas and Georgia, all at home and they do not even have to play the Vols.

I believe that it is more likely that Ohio State will lose a conference game than Texas and I also believe that The Horns' defense will be the toughest the Buckeyes will see this year.

Considering USC's schedule, I can not see them going undefeated and if OSU handles the Longhorns next Saturday, I would not be surprised to see these two teams play again in Tempe for all the marbles. If Texas beats the Bucks as I believe they will, my money is on a Texas/Auburn matchup for the crystal football.

Any discussion about West Virginia or Louisville making it to the big show is ludicrous, in my opinion.

I think the Texas-Ohio St game will be opposite of last year, but with same final result:Texas wins a tight one.
By opposite, I mean that this should be a more offensive game.
I loved what I saw out of Texas defense, but that was UNT and not Smith,Ginn, and Co.
I thought Ohio St defense was AWFUL for the most part. UNI moved it at will in the first half, but kept making big mistake plays every drive.
We will see.
I LIKE THE OVER.

Hard for any team in the SEC to go undefeated, but *if* it happens again this year, with Auburn or another SEC team, I can't see them getting bumped from the title game again. :nono:

I have to disagree about Phat Phil deserving the credit.... The only credit he deserves is for getting rid of Sanders and re-hiring Cutcliff, who is the one who should get the credit for yesterday's showing. ;)

edit: Auburn *might* have to play Tennessee if both make it to the conf championship game.

Aubirn isnt jumping ahead of an undefeated Texas, ND, OSU or USC. And a decent chance 2 of them are unbeaten.

...disagree. I don't think that there will be 2 unbeaten teams this season.

1. Texas or OSU is going to fall out next weekend... I don't see Texas going undefeated with frosh qb.... OK, Neb and a conf champ game
2. ND should have lost last night and will lose one of the next 4 (or later to USC) I just don't buy into the hype.... They're not a top 5 team and will lose a few games this season.
3. USC has to play ND, Oreg, CAL and Ariz St. (Don't let the stats fool you, Cal is better on defense than they showed. Just a few missed tackles.)
4. OSU has the best chance without a champ game at the end IMHO, but still has to get by Texas, Iowa and Michigan
