No expert on property and casualty myself--but my 2 cents.
If I was shopping I would make copy of my current coverage and fax it to other carriers to get quote on duplicate coverage to avert someone giving me low bid but cutting coverage.
If savings were not at least 10% or more would probably stay where I am if satisified with service and claims experience in past.
Reason I wouldn't change for small savings is if you'd had no major claims and have prob in near future --they should look at it as overall claim experience--if you change and prob occurs they may not factor your prior good claim experience into equation.
you might also ask friends that live near you about their experience. If you hear allocades from more than one person of a particular agent/agency I would give them opp to quote it--as when it comes time to collect--service will far outweigh a few dollars saved.
prior suggestion of having home and all autos under one carrier was good--the more discounts you can incur--the better.
Again --sorry I couldn't be more precise--but not my area expertise.
ga. ben...some on here that aren`t very experienced in the nuance of shopping around for different insurances have tried to help based on their limited experience and knowledge......in my case, forgive me for not getting my terminology straight...
and then you have guys with actual experience who are willing to give of their time to give you some excellent advice(dtb).....
or,you have other guys with experience who would rather take pot shots at guy`s who are trying to help and get a kick out of watching nice guys like yourself flounder around without being a damned bit of help themselves.......
there aren`t many of them on this site...just a few mean-spirited "jack-tards"(my term) for these useless fellows that have the disposition of someone that just passed a particularly hard brillo pad....
dtb...you are a prince...some excellent advice...
