It's all about the pitching. Edge goes to ADAM WAINWRIGHT. He is a workhorse .He has 30 more innings pitched then Lester. This is huge and you ask why. Because they don't have a DH in The National League.
Wainwright has ONLY walked 36 batters in 264 innings . Lester 232 inning 74 walks . More then double the walks with 32 less innings.

WAINWRIGHT is 4-1 in the playoffs with an ERA of 2.10

Lester is 4-4 in playoff with ERA of 2.49

It wont be easy but nevertheless it's still a winning handout

If you're smart. you'll play these games yourself

I am shocked to see all the love for the Sox with the way Wainwright has been shutting batters down. Gotta love getting him as a dog! Here's hoping we're right! :toast:

I respect your capping and you have certainly been solid. But I don't understand your logic here. They only pinch hit for the pitcher late game. Otherwise, NL pitchers are facing NL pitchers. That theoretically weakens stat lines for NL pitchers vs AL pitchers who face a DH. Second, how would not having a DH possibly affect/increase Wainwright's innings pitched? No argument that Wainwright is a great arm and the redbirds may very well win tonight, but I don't get your thinking. Sorry.

It will be interesting, with the vine video, catching Lester doctoring the baseball, how will this affect his next start (assuming this isn't a 2004 repeat) ?

ALL THE ESPN COVERAGE IS SAYING IT IS NOT A BIG DEAL AND THAT THE CARDS AREN'T MAKING ANYTHING OUT OF IT...OTHER EX-BASEBALL PLAYERS NOW ANNOUNCERS STATED IT IS COMMON TO HAVE SOMETHING ON A COLD NIGHT TO GAIN SOME GRIP ON THE BALL...THEY STATED IT WAS NOT DOCTORING OR SCUFFING THE BALL TO GAIN ADVANTAGE....THESE ARE NOT MY WORDS JUST PASSING ALONG WHAT IS BEING SAID ON ESPN COVERAGE.

I have seen the video, have not seen the photo.. anyone have the link ? in the video he touches his glove but you can't see anything... they just show that one shot... if there was something to it why not show multiple shots ? It could be just a routine, to touch that spot on his glove. .. someone with video of all his starts this year could easily clear this up ..
