The broken collarbone is his fault, which is why I feel he should be punished severely. If you punch a guy in the nose, you can be charged with assault. If that person dies as a result of the punch, you are subject to a manslaughter charge or worse.

I'm a huge Greinke fan, and hate to see him hurt, but he has to shoulder (pun intended I guess) part of the blame. He dislikes Quentin going back to some Royals vs. White Sox brawls when he was with KC. Greinke despises the White Sox and anyone that has been with them.

Now I'm sure he was perhaps retaliating for what happened to Matt Kemp earlier, but if he hadn't picked Quentin, who he knows hates him as much, probably wouldn't have been as severe and issue.

Mound charging is a silly part of the game of baseball. Quentin should have allowed MLB to handle this

1 run game 3-2 count...

Who knows...that's baseball..Quentin always been a meathead..he shows pitchers up all the time..not surprising he leads the league in hit by pitch last 3 years...he should be out as long as greinke but baseball doesn't work that way...he'll get 5-7 games max...appealed down to 3 probably.

Hope it's only 6 weeks greinke is out...fearing more.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Quentin was not being thrown at, it was a 3 -2 pitch and it was not a bean ball like pitch. Quentin hugs the plate and he gets hit a lot.

40 games is too much since there is no precedent for it, but it is a shame that Grienke was hurt.

The same could be said about a pitcher. I'm sure Greinke will think twice before hitting someone next time.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you get Ventura'd.

You say that like he meant to hit him with a 3-2 count in a one run game?

So he is not supposed to pitch inside anymore?

Unreal. Quentin acts likes a bitch and yet somehow this is on Greinke?

I don't know if it's just me, but that doesn't look anything like the Carlos Quentin that was on the field... no sideburns there (big ones on the field), no beard.... sure, he could have decided to shave after the game....

It just doesn't look like the same guy.. plus Kemp is 6'3" and Quentin is 6'2" - but Kemp looks much smaller in the pics.....

Probably him, but sure doesn't look like the same guy.

My opinion - Quentin should be suspended 60 games. It clearly wasn't intentional. He got hit on the bicep. He never moved to get out of the way - which is why he leads the league in getting HBP every year, even though he typically only plays 1/2 a season.

Quentin very likely changed the outcome of the NL West race this year (or the wildcard) due to one of the stupidest things I've seen in a MLB games in years. He should have to pay for his stupidity.

FYI - don't know if you guys saw the tweet that the LA Dodger organization sent out this morning on their official twitter account - it was a picture of Ron Burgendy saying "Stay Classy San Diego"....

Next Monday night should be a fun one to watch, although it may take until Tuesday or Wednesday to watch the fireworks happen. I would nominate Kenley to drill someone - the problem is, there really is no "star" on the Padres to hit - so I guess they'll have to drill Quentin.

It's the third time Grienke has hit him, i'd probably be pissed too and charge the mound :box2:

Quentin gets hit all the time. So all he does by charging the mound is fuck his team by being suspended for perhaps up to ten games.

Either move out of the way or be smarter. It be different if greinke was head hunting. If you hang over the plate you are going to get hit.
