Learned how to do it last week and have been changing them all out throughout the house (in and out). If you have someone to help it is even easier....unless that person is your wife.

One question for some of you with electrical skills: If you can't get the ground to connect to the fixture is it that big of a deal? I just installed an outdoor fixture and the ground screw would not come free. I used a screw driver, I used pliers, but the fucker wouldn't budge. I capped the ground and finished the installation. Is this going to be a big deal?

put some liquid wrench on the rusted screw...soak a paper towel or some cotton and wrap it.... that stuff will loosen it up(unless it`s stripped).......

it`s only a few bucks at the hardware store...

you`ll sleep better knowing it`s grounded...

First off, thanks for some actual advice.

I did some damage to the screw with my last pissed off effort, but I think it is still usable if I can get it loosened up. I was also thinking about getting some thin copper wire that I could start twisting around the screw and then connect that to the ground coming out of the box.
