Didn't you guys throw bottles at your own players?

Again, I have not made any references to the actions of fans of any university. I cannot speak for the actions of fans. I know that I had some problems with several Tennessee fans at the SEC championship game in 2001, but that doesn't mean that Taoist, Volfan and Ronnie are dicks.

I simply witnessed two events involving the Auburn band and cheerleaders that I felt were cheesy. Nothing more, nothing less. Why is it so difficult for you to understand this?

It is not, and duly noted but cheesy is not the same standard as Classless. It's just funny to hear how the band and cheerleaders are classless... And Alabama's band calling themselves the Million dollar band makes them arrogant... Why pick this battle...

The hit however should been dealt with swiftly and looked to be intentional. We don't stand for that and he should be removed for some time...

Yeah, It's a silly argument about fans and the such. Not even sure how it started, but my guess its my fault. Hell, at least Tuberville didn't lead his team onto the eye of the Tiger at midfield to smoke victory cigars this time. Of course, you and I both know he probably had a few Cohibas and a wind-proof lighter in hand just in case he won;)

The following is my post at an LSU fan forum this morning after War Eagle informed us of threats called in to Ramsey's family. I was gonna link it, but I'm not sure that's allowed. I verified the threats from another source and then posted this "Holier than thou" message(happens to be my specialty) :

I am not sure what type of individual would think it a good idea to threaten Chaz Ramsey and his family by phone, but I will say that it makes me sick. I was as bothered as anyone(or, so I thought) by the chop block because Dorsey is a good guy who does not deserve to lose his shot at the NFL over a cheap shot, but to harass a family at their home is insane. If you are one of lunatics that felt it necessary to disturb this guy's mother at home with empty threats, then please get a grip on reality. What happened to Dorsey is a mistake made on a football field by a teenager. By all accounts, this turned out to be accidental in nature. As much as I was bothered by the chop block, it pales in comparison to the loathing I feel towards those who commited this childish act. Two weeks ago our fan base was embarassed by fans calling, and some even threatening, Tim Tebow prior to the game. I was pleased to see the character he displayed in handling that situation. He, like many of our proud current and former LSU players, are what college athletics is about.

Let us not forget that in the 90's, Tiger Stadium was never full. Many of those who actually attended the games then will tell you, like I am now, that the current following this team has is as strong as ever. Why, because we won a BCS Title and a couple of SEC Championships? That does not justify this animalistic behavior. I've enjoyed every moment of the success we've experienced this decade, but if it means that we must continue to deal with this type of infantile behavior from our fans, then I would glady trade it all away.

Auburn hit

Auburn hit

To: Bobbyblue chip

I DO NOT know what is SO funny about my post. With all due respect to you, I DID NOT SEE THE HIT MADE BY AU'S PLAYER to Dorsey or whoever he is -(IF it was THAT blatant i will take your word for it sir, BUT I DID NOT SEE it--What is so funny--I simply said I would like to take a look at it--AND AU "faithful" DO NOT put up with intentionally hurting another player------LAUGH ALL YOU WANT SIR, but if I DID NOT see it, I DID NOT see it.

Quite frankly your cute post p****d me off to the Nth degree---I still have not had time to look at it-, but if it is your opinion AU made an illegal hit--I'll take your word for it--but PLEASE EXPLAIN what is SO funny about my post---The things LSU fans do in Auburn is a disgrace--(I'm sure there are some AU fans who act the same in Baton Rouge----maybe I am just stupid, but I dem,and to know why my post gets your three "little green men"--laughing their a** off--I was being sincere--I DID NOT SEE the PLAY , but your cute post p****s me off--LSU is far from Perfect--Auburn is NOT PERFECT--IF the hit was intentional (which according to your post--he shouldn';t be suspended--firing squad would be more approp.

I DO NOT condone the behaviour implied towards the AU player--I do not even know his name----but I think your reply is about as UN-CLASSY as the "alleged"
intentional hit)

PLEASE let me know WHAT is so funny about my post--I honestly DO NOT "get it"____Tubberville has been fired once in the last 4 years (secretly)-then rehired with a huge raise---BUT AU trustees (and fans) WILL NOT put up with what is implied-some trustees want him gone--they DO NOT like him--(I don't like his coaching)

Laugh ALL you want--but you could EXPLAIN what is SO funny--instead of just pasting my post with 3 laughing green as*****es

With all due respect, PLEASE explain what is SO FUNNY-----as I've said 5 times, I did NOT see the play-if itwas blatant--I apologize, but I can't apologize for AU or say "he should be suspened for one game or season without seeing it

I hope you respond, I'm really a nice guy--but YOU or nobody on thid forum is going to treat me like you did--I meant no harm in what I said

Regards,

Alan

You had time to type all that, and didn't have time to watch the 5 second video clip?

You Awbies crack me up. :142smilie

What in the world does Alabama's MDB have to do with this post? This thread was about an illegal chop block and now it's morphed into cheerleaders and bands.

:142smilie exactly what I was thinking. I mean, really, it's not one of ptguards 2 hour long 911 videos or something.

I watched the video. It was an illegal block, but it looked like to me the lineman shifted to his left first to block, nobody was there, so he went back to the right really quick and went low on Dorsey. Maybe he had been blocking Dorsey low all game? I don't see where you can say just from 1 play that this guy was trying to hurt Dorsey.

The dirtiest team I've seen this year who is always held in high regard is Navy. I watched them play Pittsburgh, and their whole blocking scheme is to take out the D-linemen's knees every down. Maybe they should get suspended too?
