I was in the Navy at Pearl Harbor circa 1969.

Cher put on a show at the NCO club (Non-commissioned-officers E-4 and up).
Really wanted to see it badly, got there early, no go.

I was an E-3 at the time.

A bunch of us piled into cabs went downtown Honolulu got drunk and tattooed.

Rose tattoo parlor, we got 3 for $30.00.

Had it "refreshed" in Vegas last year for $80.00.
