A minimum wage job should not be a career, minimum wage should be 7-8 bucks an hour max, mark my words if that commie gets the presidency the people forced to hire people for 15 bucks an hour will just cut the work force in half
Do the idiots deserve $15. No. However, if idiots make $15 a hour then my chances of making $28 a hour instead of just $20 is better than if it remained at $8. Looking back 20 years ago, $28 IS what I should be making based on the rise in cost here, especially in my area. Oh well...

Well I am sure there are those who would willingly work those hours the others don't want. As for the benefits, do I approve of that, no, but the FACT still remains there are overall more moochers in red states.

Virginia Democratic Rep. James Moran thinks members of Congress aren?t getting paid enough.
Moran and his colleagues make $174,000 a year, but he says that?s not enough money to live comfortably in the nation?s capital.
?Our pay has been frozen for three years and we?re planning on freezing it a fourth year. ? A lot of members can?t even afford to live decently in Washington,? Moran told CQ Roll Call.
Moran is looking to do something about it. He plans to introduce an amendment to raise members? salary to an unspecified figure, according to the report. He?s not optimistic the bill will go anywhere ? ?this is wholly quixotic,? he told the paper ? but he hopes it will highlight what he sees as a hardship for elected officials.
Washington, D.C. is the nation?s highest-income metropolitan area, and Census data from 2010 showed that the average salary for the city?$84,523?is less than half what members of Congress make. Americans as a whole make far less than that, with an average income of $50,000.
But Moran told Roll Call that many members of Congress live out of their offices while in the capital to save money, or have ?small little apartment units? that prevent family time.
?I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid,? Moran said. ?I understand that it?s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world.?
By and large, lawmakers are hardly suffering from their six-figure salary: more than half of all the members of Congress are millionaires, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Moran, who has announced he will retire from Congress, has seen a big change in his finances during his time in office. In 2007, he was the 29th wealthiest member of the House of Representatives. In 2012, he was the 404th wealthiest member of the House of Representatives, according to the group.
Moran isn?t the first to complain about congressional pay. In 2011, Wisconsin Republican Rep. Sean Duffy was criticized for complaining about his salary to an underemployed construction worker.
?I struggle to meet my bills right now,? Duffy said, commenting that he drives a used minivan and struggles to pay his bills and mortgage.
?But 174,000, that?s three times ? that?s three of my family?s ? three times what I make,? the constituent said.

Full time for 14 k a year and then bitch about them getting assistance or how about the part time student making $7 per hour? What's that about 5k during the school the year? Then bitch about the student getting assistance and forced to rack up more loan money he/she can't pay back but then again it's ok for colleges to take advantage with outrageous tuitions.

President Barack Obama has requested a raise in the amount of money allotted to former presidents of 18 percent, according to a report by Congressional Research Service.
"The President?s FY2017 budget request seeks $3,865,000 in appropriations for expenditures for former Presidents, an increase of $588,000 (17.9%) from the FY2016 appropriation level," the report says.
Obama leaves office in January 2017, and the increase in requested funds for FY2017 "anticipates President Barack Obama?s transition from incumbent to former President," the report says.
For FY2016, Obama requested and received appropriations of $3,277,000 for expenditures for former Presidents, which is an increase of $25,000 from FY2015.
Former presidents began receiving pay after leaving office in after passage of the Former Presidents Act in 1958. The law was passed in response to former President Harry Truman having financial difficulties in his post-presidency.
"Some critics of the Former Presidents Act say the statute subsidizes Presidents who are not struggling financially," the report reads. "Others argue that although a former President is not in a formal public position, he remains a public figure and should be provided a pension and benefits that permit him to perform duties that emerge as a result of his public status."

The intent of the law is to provide for a dignified life for presidents after leaving office. Though many are financially secure, Truman and Ulysses S. Grant both struggled.
The annual pay is equal to that of the head of an executive department, which was $203,700 in 2015. It was raised to $205,700 in 2016.
Widows of former presidents receive $20,000 per year.
