Will be in Chitown this Saturday for the night. Meeting up with friends at Johnny O'Hagan's Irish Pub on Clark Street.

Was looking at City Suites Hotel on West Belmont, Inn at Lincoln Park on West Diversey Parkway or Majestic Hotel on West Brompton.

Thoughts?

I cant recall where I stayed in Chitown last time out, but it was inexpensive and close to the red line. Will try to look it up.

Enjoy:toast:

Maybe two rooms... one uptown and one downtown just in case you need to sleep it off...

haven't heard of any of those 3 joints. hotels in that area typically aren't luxurious and pretty small. but if it is just for a night, a cheap bed will likely meet your needs.

Girlfriend and I will be getting into town around 1 PM local time on Saturday. Don't have to be at birthday party until 8 PM so looking for some suggestions on how to kill some time until then. Also going to be hang around until mid-afternoon on Sunday (if we feel like doing anything at all, LOL).

Already been suggested to park my truck at hotel and grab a weekend CTA pass so we can ride the train downtown and walk around. Never spent much time in Chicago proper always been to the 'burbs other than a Cubs or Sox game. Was thinking about Sears Tower, Millennium Park or the Aquarium.

Any input would be appreciated.

Definitely will check out Hotdougs. :0074

I appreciate the links. Also looking at Navy Pier, Lincoln and Garfield Park Conservatories, Cultural Center and both zoos.

Navy Pier is cold, dunno about the conservatories, I don't like Lincoln Park Zoo and Brookfield is pretty suburban. My daughter loves it there, but I'd rather go to the Shedd

Brookfield is definitely a better zoo but LP is free so decent enough a walk through if the weather isn't bad.

If you are wanting to do something on the history side but not have to deal with the lines for the big name museums, check out the historical society, renamed chicag history museum: http://www.chicagohs.org/

If you go to one of the big ones, Museum of Science and Industry is the best imo.
