Decided to buy YZC with proceeds from BKEAY.PK at open--unlucky buy price 6.66 :scared

Your order to buy 500 of YZC has been executed at $6.66. Reference NumberXXXXXXXXX

Have been watching this stock for a while--thinking these resouce stocks will bounce back and this is largest coal co in China.

As with other resource stocks this has been beaten down from 52 week high of 23.00 to low of 5.89

My reason for liking is has extremely low PE now of under 1 (no typo) and forward PE of 2.38
while foward div of 19% which will not hold if price goes up --however I believe div to be very stable as the have 1.38B in cash while only 126.94M in debt and bout 500mil free cash flow and div payout ratio is very small 3%.

HIMX has some decent news coming out--not that it means anything--but not reflected in opening price--I already have bout as much as I want @ $4.11 a share initially and some later @ $2.50 but going to add a little to it (despite better judgement) is currently $1.90 with great div that appears safe to IMO.

We'll keep our fingers crossed--I already knew the fincial report that came last night--though #'s were down was better than expected considering-

but thought boost might come from this disclosure also out last night--

http://biz.yahoo.com/pz/081103/153663.html

TAINAN, Taiwan, Nov. 3, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Himax Technologies, Inc. (NasdaqGS:HIMX - News) announced today it has allied with Wingtech Group (``Wingtech''), China's largest handset solution provider, in the development of LCOS mobile projector for China market.

Don't know what outcome will be--but sure is solid stock with no debt and very attractice div to compensate any drops from current price--but then again I thought same when stock was $4.00 before recent market collapse--so who knows :)

I sure wish you could look into your crystal ball and tell us with 100% certainty where this stock is headed, DTB...;)
I bought a bunch of this one @ 4.35 and its painful seeing it at a buck and change right now. Want to add to my position in it but every time I look its dropping another 5-10 cents. If they somehow decide to dump/suspend/lower the dividend, I would probably eat the loss and get out. However, don't see indications that will happen, so I'll sit tight.

The hardest thing for me to comprehend is impact of U.S. market on other markets.
You have China and India with most (and pretty decent)projected growth in 2009.
--but they seem to follow U.S. market regardless.

I'm have been thinking invsetors will at some point in time--look to countries of growth--vs those in decline or treading water--but hasn't happened yet.

I plan on holding them until I see reason (growth and profit wise) not to.

You pointed to primary indicator that I also planned to use as indicator--significant reduction in dividends. on Himx--they started divs in 2007 at .20 a share--increased to .35 a share in 08 if they pay that in 09 will be tidy sum--
one plus beside their 0 debt is large position on insider ownership (35.80%) I always like that in a company.

News and earnings out yesterday on most of stocks still being held WH HIMX and AOB

Completely satisfied with reports but appears profits mean little in this time period--however small gains were made on some.

WH--yesterday report-did gain .49 on news
WSP quarterly profit jumps 42%, ups guidance
http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Sto...F9-B028-42A2-99CF-732B9AEBDB68}&siteid=yhoof2

HIMX yesterday news--small bounce of 18% gain
Himax announces share buyback of up to $50 million
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081114/himax_share_buyback.html?.v=1

AOB yesterday report --stock dropped but up after hours
http://biz.yahoo.com/e/081114/aob8-k.html
Third Quarter 2008 Financial Results
- Revenue Increased 62% to $70.6 Million in 3Q08- 3Q08 Net Income Increased 38% to $16.5 Million -
- 3Q08 Diluted EPS $0.21 versus 3Q07 Diluted EPS $0.16 -

--strange times--getting performance anticipated but no reward.

--along those line China has did their economy bail out--not sure how that will impact Chinese market but think it might have effect on U.S.market in area of bonds they purchase or sell in future--especially if we go anti free trade direction and piss them off.

I did this a year ago, but own quite a few shares of RHGP, there reporting has been slow, but shows good profits.

What are you opinions on this, I am not selling it because long term I believe it will be a nice one for me, but avg price on my shares is 1.28, and I will lower that signifigantly with another large purchase if and when it goes down to .16...

thoughts...

I had hard time finding anything current on them--most recent financials I could find was 3rd quarter of 07.
From data to that point had lots of bright spots--no debt----2.5 PE which is tough to find 20 cent stock with those 2 factors--however don't know what has happened in 08. All Chinese stocks have been hit hard and just starting to recover.
My fav pharmacutical stocks there AOB and CSKI have had nothing but one great report after another and AOB has dropped bought 39% from initial buy in while CSKI has made a little profit.

Here are some links I found for you.
Reuters has best resouces on it however not current--

http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/incomeStatement?symbol=RHGP.PK
here is company website in english-

This is lastest thing I could find on company and you might want to bookmark this site as they are best I've seen on news on info Bio's in China

DTB-

Thanks for some of the site, ones I have not seen. On first blush I loved RHGP, stock has rebounded once, and now lightly traded and "cheap", reporting has been slow, and e-mails to them say the reporting is coming, but with no reasoning for latest financials not being released... does give reason for pause...

Thanks though, and let's hope thier is a nice increase in the years to come!!

great trade, also very wise to take half off the table, have known people who would ride a stock all the way up and sometimes all the way back down, without ever taking anything off the table, sometimes gains of 400%+.

for the most part I sometimes sell to early after a 30-50% gain, 75% of the position, and it still moves higher.

still no one ever went broke taking a profit.

like many stocks had a wide range 4.04 low 22.90 high. so you picked this off very close to the low.

still have a large cash position.

thanks

I got on board with a solar panel stock (STP) a couple of weeks ago @14, it now currently trades @17 but it still looks like it has plenty of upside potential, with everything going green right?

Whats up Turf

I looked at that stock a while back and did not buy because of their PE and debt load and opted for smaller competitor that was not as one dimentional-only solar.

You might look at APWR sometime. It is much smaller company with practically no debt and forward PE under 10. While it dabbles in solar it main function is power grids in general. It has had recent run up in last month (around 4 to over 13) so might not be good time to purchase but if it fails back you might take fresh look at it.

I realy fckup on this stock--I had it @ 5.15 and Zacks had strong sell warning before bell one day and I sold at 6.90 --kept going up and bought back 1/2 of original shares @ 7.95--now 13.00

so lost $1 profit - and worse 1/2 of shares
My bailing on Zacks strong sell cost me bout $6,000 in profits -- so far:(

--and nice gain of STD.

Thanks DTB for the info, I looked at APWR, and it looks like a solid stock. It might be one to go long on, but I think it?s a utility stock right?

Now don?t get me wrong, I love utilities because they tend to be less sensitive to economic changes. Consumers tend to decrease discretionary expenses to save money, but they can not decrease utilities purchases.

But now everybody seems to be thinking recovery and when an economic recovery occurs, utilities stocks tend to underperform the general stock market, because consumers quickly resume spending on items they wanted, but resisted buying during tougher economic times.

So it doesn?t seem like the right time to buy utility stock being that they are less risky equity investments in a declining market.

But I will put it on my watch list.

Now, just because I typed all the above in no way makes me a knowledgeable guy. I have no idea about P/E ratios or debt loads, to me it?s just like gambling? except when I?m losing I don?t have to sell right away, and maybe at some point the season can turn around.

After all, I had WM and now I have WMPKQ?and I?m still buying more in hopes that it will make it to a quarter and I can finally be shed of it. :00hour

--a couple notes- on recent ticker symbol change

China Natural Gas (in the free ride bin)had reverse stock split on may 13th and changed symbol to CANL in effort to get Nasdaq listing. On June 3rd listing was approved--symbol was changed back to CHNG qand stock has had about 50% run up.

WH a current stock has starting paying dividends (bout 4%) with 1st ex date 6-26--getting some good movement of late and was largest on nyse on friday (24%)

--on side note per getting nasdaq listing --have stock not in portfolio that has had recent run up
CHINA NORTH EAST PETE HLDG LTD COM
Yahoo financials has it still listed CNEH.OB as does my Ameriprise account--however noticed yesterday Etrade account had this "The symbol CNEH has changed to NEP" with AMEX listing--
odd that other sources haven't picked up on it yet-might get small bounce when do--however was up 25% last week--so suppose many knew before this dummy :)
