Mags, I explained earlier that it would apply to the top execs. Not just the CEO.

Ah. That helps.

Just curious, Stevie, but what do you do for a living? I take it you are not a CEO or top executive at a Fortune 500 company?

Or are you still in high school or college?

Mags, I work in IT. I have for years and years. I am in my 50's. I don't hate CEO's or top execs. I don't even hate A-Rod. I do have a problem with some MBA's though.:mj07:
Seriously, some on here make hero's out of these CEO's. Like everything there are good and bad ones.
Just throwing something out for discussion.

Boy you guys get off target, what does a rod have to do with buying cheap shit products made from a Communist, actually the biggest Communist country in the world. And if we do business with China, (actually borrow billions every day from them), what makes them different from Cuba?

I was thinking about Chinese products after the devastating earthquake last week. I wonder if all the tents and equipment the US and other countries are donating to the victims were actually made in China to begin with.

Some irony there somewhere.

You cannot really put a cap onCEO salaries but we can enact a windfall profit tax that will prevent some of the bonuses and outrageous profits by the oil and pharmaceutical companies. Everyone has the right to make money and it is the CEO's job to make money for the the shareholders but at some point either a windfall tax must be enacted or a flat tax on all profits prior to executive bonuses.

salary is one thing. Executive bonuses is another. When CEO's and teh like are taking bonuses while laying people off..............................something is wrong with that picture. A-Rod only makes that kind of money because the Yankees make enough to pay it and still turn a sizeable profit.

Increased tariffs will solve the foreign trade issue but will never happen as nobody wants to piss off china because Big Wheels sure are cheap.

Somebody either had to see that picture and really be thinking out of the box, or they had the idea and searched REALLY hard for a photo that would work well.

Amazing what happens when people are motivated to use their creativity.

I don't really see where you are coming from.
First you say these guys should get paid high salaries. Then you say most of them don't anyway. Then you argue that somehow not having a high salary will stunt their performance. Then you argue that the best work for a dollar year plus stock options. I mentioned early in the argument that they could make up the money in stocks. That is the key to the whole thing.:00hour

I've got the same dilemna thinking about your solution to this issue. You are saying the system is broken as it is.. CEO's getting too much money... and it needs to be fixed.. and they can make up the difference in large stock options.

What I am trying to show you is that the "solution" you are proposing is already in place and working and that is what you are arguing against.
