Well now that Fats has chimed in about internet wagering, and even Jack himself got stiffed out of a hat bet one time, I am a little leery.

Especially since your from some cookie land place.

I think I figured out your problem. You simply put too many choices in your polls. Keep it to under ...say...8 at the most choices and I know my own enthusiasm and participation would increase.
...........................................................

you know smurph , now that I think about it you may be absolutely correct as usual.

hmmm keep it under 8 thats the ticket.

Now if I can just think of a poll to do.

Thats the hardest part for me.

Alot of baseball people will tell you that Soriano's "swing for the fences" and never taking pitches at the leadoff spot is embarassing and killing to cubs.

I'd put Soriano 5th

That spot is taken with Fukudome...
He may have to go to second or seventh depending on the lineup. The Cubs, you see, are loaded with good bats so no real need anywhere.

ATLANTA (AP)?Happy birthday, Chipper Jones.

The Braves slugger celebrated his 36th birthday by going 3-for-3, including a homer, to lead Atlanta past the NL East-leading Florida Marlins 7-4 on Thursday night.

Jones also singled in the fifth, and was walked intentionally in his final at-bat while the crowd booed loudly. He?s on one of the hottest tears of his career, raising the best average in the majors to .442, and has seven homers and 20 RBIs.

Hey Scott, can I get in this bet too. I think Chipper is going to win the batting title too. How about an authentic Yunel Escobar jersey for 200 dollars of steaks?

If youre down, ill take you up on this.....

No way Chipper wins the batting title.

how about an authentic Yunel for an authentic Hanley Ramirez?

Chipper Jones, through 2 innings tonight

2-2, 2runs, 1rbi, 1hr

Aramis Ramirez: 0-4

right and the Cubs have the best what? Oh thats right

Record in the Majors(tied)
Most runs scored
highest team BA.
1-8 hitters the other night all had OB's better than .400
most hits
and the list goes on and on.
On a side note he is having a decent start to the year with his BA. Thing is he only has one or two more home runs then Ramirez and 1 more RBI than Ramirez and he is your hero. I would think you would be more apt to ask where the base runners in front of him are or where they are ending up? With the gaudy number of .442 perhaps noone is contributing in front of him or he is selfishly trying to escalate his BA. in order to win something as I am sure he realizes that the old ass Braves are all tied up with a bow and sent to the cellar for Christmas by July. Much like Mark Grace did his entire career. You see you have to be able to see the truth about your favorite players, even when it hurts a little. Too bad Frank Thomas got picked up, you have an extra wheelchair now that Chipper stood back up.

Obviously and attempt to ignore me proving you talk about stuff more then you really know.

I don't care if the Cubs win the world series this year.

Chipper Jones wins the batting title, and I get the jersey. What the hell does them have the best record in the league have anything to do with this??

REALLY GOOD ARGUMENT LOL

Ok, now since you want to talk about "old ass braves."

I have you know it, that the braves are on of the younger teams in MLB. Problem is, you care too much NOT to do any homework, and just talk out your ass.

Oh, by the way, Cubs are one of the older teams than the Braves.

As far as our production problem. Chipper hardly ever gets runners on base in front of him, and he very rarely gets Teixeira to get him in. Most of Chippers hits are coming with 2 outs and nobody on base. Is that his fault?

Chipper .442, 7hr, 20rbi, 20runs, 1.217 OPS
Ramirez .272, 6hr, 16rbi, 20runs, .952 OPS

Quite amazing consiidering the production the cubs are getting in front and behind him and the production the Braves are lacking right now.

Mark Teixeira is batting a mere .244, yet, Chipper is managing to still hit the ball all over the place. Yesterday, he got INT BB'd so the Marlins could face Teixeira. When Teixeira heats up, it's gonna be nuts.

Really lets take a look at that starting lineup age for the cubs.

ryan theriot is a second year player
Mike Fontenot is a second year player
Derek Lee is 28
Ramirez 2-3 1 RBI I run and a walk tonght is 31
/fukudome is 31
Soriano is around 32 or so not sure
Matt Murton is in his second year
Felix Pie is in his second year
Geovany Soto is a rookie
Rich Hill is in his second year
Reed Johnson is 26
Hart is a rookie and 22
Sean Williams 23
Kerry Wood is 31
Zambrano is 28
Howry is 27
Yea we are old as hell gimme a break and get a friggin team that can compete with someone other than the Astros and you get your fact straight. We also have a pitcher that is a rokie yet his name escapes me now cuz its real long and I am tired. I tell you what I will do i will any wager you want within reason when the Cubs and Braves go head to head anyday. Your team sucks, Chipper is soon to be a grandad and you will be mathematically eliminated next week some time hows that for talking out my ass.

besides I wasn't ignoring you I just didn't get back online but I will tell you that the MVP that you are so sure Chip will win, is rarely awarded to a player on a team with 68-76 wins so good luck.

Being a Cubs fan, you most certainly would know that.

As for talking about the players in each teams lineup, you're the dumbass who talked up Ramirez because he had Lee, Fukudome, and Soriano!!! What, are you retracting your statements now?
