Jesue was King of the Jews, smurph is King of Maps

KOM

Kinda has a ring to it, not sure why

I'm confused about the food industry comment, Sponge.

Atl - I gave you my answer about the pennies - that answer was "bring it on". I'm sure I'll be fine even if I only gather a few million of them. You are a no-good indian-giver. You promise me 100 billion pennies, I gladly accepted, and then you totally renig. That is utter bullshit. Shame on you.

The new Jesus will likely not take kindly to your transgression of trust.

i always like money-making ideas - especially ones that pay in pennies. after you deliver on your promise, maybe we can have a sitdown and get your idea off the ground.

"the bunker"
I guess the reason I made mention of a religious topic is because the regulars here remind me of a group of apostles without a leader.

In the above, the word apostle refers to anyone who considers themselves to be a pioneer in a reform movement.

i saw "the man" drinking a pina-colada at trader rick's - and his hair was perfect,btw... ....but he`s not into all this religious stuff anymore...

that`s why we need a new leader...

buddy...you could be our leader....if you`re up for it,how`s about we sneak you into "that well" some night, have you come out of the well, proclaim yourself the 12th imam and tell them all to convert to scientology?....

remember...in the words of a great american leader,"it`s for the children"....

something needs to be done...look what they`re doing over there....

""Habib Moftah Bushehri, an internationally renowned musician, has been sentenced to two years in jail in Iran on charges that his music offends Islam. Bushehri, who lives in Paris where he performs with his group, the Ensemble Busherhri, had recently returned to Iran to visit his family. The musician, who is well known with his group as a performer of folk music from southern Iran, is accused of offending religion with his melodies, which mix music performed during Islamic Shiite ceremonies with contemporary pieces, mainly jazz - a combination which has made him extremely popular.""

makes you wonder what they`d do to yoko ono......

weasel,

I cannot tell a lie (one of the countless requirements of a reform movement leader).

This morning at work, I broke out into my rendition of "Oh My Darling, Clementine".

I person applauded, the other two threw things at my head.

IO,

I unnerstand, IO....and you get no argument from me. I'm happy going to church and have no problems with the master / disciple relationship. I came to terms with that long ago. I've always believed that one must learn from he who knows. And I believe the one I'm following knows what He's doing.

I think someone like smurph would fit the bill as leader of the group. He's charismatic, opionated, well informed and has the ability to comfort the afflicted as well as afflict the comforted.

Given some of smurphs keyboard sermons, its not far fetched to think of smurph being brought up on a tromped up charge and some media talking head like O'Reilly saying, "Are you really who they say you are? Are you the king of the news?"

I don't have a problem with giving to the church. I figure its part of my blessing to be able to contribute toward the promotion of God's Kingdom here on earth. It's what I believe and would like to see happen so I give freely. I hate money anyway. The stuff is filthy. Yeah, I know what it can do and all that crap, but I really hate to touch the stuff.

As far as pastors going after the bucks... Pastors have a bully pulpit and some play on your emotions more than others. They can make you feel guilty if you allow yourself. I don't feel guilty. I give because I can and I want to. In a way, it's just a small part of my being able to honor God for what He means to me.

But that's me.

Buddy, thank you very much for the endorsement. But I think others here would agree - I would not make a very good Jesus. I would compete with God for attention, rather than give him/her the glory. Probably the fact alone that I say him/her would not go over very well. Anyway, I lack the humility and modesty required to be Jesus. ...And also I wouldn't actually believe exclusively in myself - I would be OK with Buddhists, scientologists, and pretty much every religion except Islam. To be a good Jesus, you really truly need to actually believe in Jesus.

You are still clearly the best choice - I mean, just listen to yourself - you are saying all the right things.

The part about Buddy's thoughts on how informed you are is hysterical to me. I never saw a person in my life who is so clueless about Jennie's like you are. Its almost to painful to watch your thoughts about Jeannie's. I almost had to step in to help you. Good thing Scott keep you on your toes.

If there is a god i don't think he or she would want money to be the way he wanted to be thanked.

On another note im not sure if any of you have seen this on the news but my church created a fad that has taking a life of its own and i am proud to be part of this great tradition. When the collection basket is passed around with that long stick with the basket attached, we all would raise our hands, stand up, and say "let it pass". This is now called the wave.:142smilie

Are you saying Scott is/was a good genie? You are right in that I have limited experience with them. One used to help me clean and sanitize the kitchen and bathroom and I've seen that old reality show about that one that always pestered Mr. Ewing from Dallas. Other than that, I can only draw conclusions from songs and folklore.

But I thought the main thing about them was that they granted wishes when they were allotted to you. If I have that wrong, I apologize. I was thinking of suing Scott from Atlanta for breech of contract, but I'll need to consult Eddie first.
