This year is all LeBron all the time.... which is too bad because Carmello is the real story.....

not sure that carmello is the best player on his own team

far more talent and better basketball players surround carmelo than lebron (miller, hilario, some vets)

personally, i was not overly high on lebron coming out of high school. but what he has been able to do with little supporting cast in cleveland is more impressive than what carmelo has done to this point

gman.... I love you to death but you are such a homer.....

Cleveland is not totally devoid of talent other than L James.... but perhaps his cohorts do make him earn his paycheck by forcing him to make the plays.

This is actually a good question, if you had a NBA team and the first pick (with what you know now) would you pick Carmello or LeBron?

youre entitled to your opinion; however, i have forever prided myself on my objectivity. i call it like it is, both for a team around here as well as against a team around here.

trust me, i have been watching cavs basketball for quite some time now.

the cavs do not have BASKETBALL PLAYERS. they have athletes.

the funny thing is, you being from california should be able to recognize that because darius miles is everything thats WRONG about the cavaliers.

there is an ENORMOUS difference between athletes and basketball players.

darius miles has more athletic gifts than 98% of the players in the nba today. and yet he will never be more than a decent 6th man because he has no clue how to play basketball.

if you doubt the impact of lebron, it is apparent in the passing of ilgauskas and ricky davis.

the last few years, when davis got the ball, it was goin up. same with ilgauskas. they both were out for themselves and it killed the cavs.

you contradicted yourself in back to back sentences. you say im a homer, yet im the one who said the cavs have little basketball talent. makes no sense.

i have watched bad cavaliers basketball for some time now. i long for the days of price, ehlo, daugherty, and nance.

if you doubt the impact of james, watch the cavs offense run when hes not on the floor. they CANT SCORE.

the kid is 18 years old and hes running a team. that tells you all you need to know about the cavaliers. they cant operate unless led by an 18-yr old kid.

totally different than carmelo.

sorry, thats just the way it is.

i was a lebron doubter all through his akron st.vincent high school days. wasnt sure if he was worth the hype.

bottom line is carmelo is gonna be an all-star every year of his career. lebron a potential superstar.

didnt mean to imply anything negative about anthony. but james/anthony comparisons are non-issues

if cavs could totally revamp their roster, the only players id want from this team are james, boozer, kapono, and dajaun wagner.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT GMAN

james has ziggy who is a pretty good player, davis who is impressive like a mofo...i still think carmelo is more impressive and isn't working with that impressive of a cast

trust me, i know ricky davis looks good to people who watch him on sportscenter and the occasional espn or tnt game. but the cavs cant find any takers for him (hes been on the trade market for weeks now, has a more than tradeable contract, and nobody is begging for him)

he is a super talent, but he does not know how to play basketball. take my word for it, if you would be watching the sh1t i watch every day with this team, youd understand. the cavs have been in sooooooo many games this year and last year and they just collapse down the stretch, usually because of a davis blunder. hes been benched, suspended, fined last year by lucas and this year by silas. he just doesnt get it. hes an AWESOME offensive player but lacks any team concept of how to WIN

its maddening when a guy like davis (who, like miles, has incredible physical gifts) cannot make fundamental basketball decisions in crunch time and when the team needs him most.

i certainly respect your opinion. im by no means degrading it. its just that this team has such a losing culture established here and nobody really know how to play the game. james, boozer, and kapono know how to play. wagner is more of a break-you-down kind of player, but he'll fit in well.

I'VE NEVER SEEN TWO MORE PEOPLE WHO BUY INTO THE JAMES HYPE MORE THAN YOU TWO

LEBRON'S TEAM IS LOSING

DENVER IS WINNING

THATS ALL THAT MATTERS WHEN TALKIN' ABOUT THE TWO

gman.... I don't think the Cavs inability to score when James is off the floor is due to James talent, I think it comes down to coaching. Ask any good coach if he wants the best athlete he can get and he will tell you 'hell yes' It is the organizations responsibility to turn these raw athletes into ball players, and it is the their fault when they are unable to come up with a combination of vets and rookies that achieves that end. As for Darius Miles, I thought he was one of the most exciting players around and the Clipps have suffered since his departure. Problem with Clipps is they will never pay for a Vet that the kids will listen to and respect..... Duleavy is not the answer. The closest thing they have is Elton Brand.

Why do you think Jackson hates rookies..... but all of the vets on the Lakers were at one time 'the best athletes' around.

Food for thought...... Not a bash at all........

darius miles is the poster boy for all-style-no-substance.

it amazes me that when he goes back to the staples center, he hears all kinds of cheers and has all kinds of fans.

when the cavs got him in the andre miller trade, i was THRILLED. i mean i was seriously jacked.

but he is such a disappointment. he is an athlete, not a basketball player.

he will never be anything more than a good 6th man who can excel in the open court.

as far as the cavs not being well-coached, thats definitely true. they finally have a good coach in place. only time will tell.

i just want to know how i feel the cavs are garbage, their organization is a mess the last decade or so, and i feel they only have a few bright spots -- how does that even remotely elicit thoughts from anyone of being a homer?

also- as far as "its the organizations responsibility ro turn raw athletes into ballplayers"

thats what college is for.

look at the cavs starting five. 5 guys with four total years of college experience. and people wonder why theyre struggling.

to compare cleveland's situation with denver's is really wrong. totally different situation.

denver hit rock bottom the right year (to land carmelo) but their franchise is always at lease respectable. cavs have been shit for years. you dont just insert a player and start winning overnight, especially one right out of high school. (i know that wasnt your comment, that was mjalam's)

to answer your question, i still think the draft went in the correct order. james, milicic, and anthony.

5-7 years from now james will be the best of the bunch (although it wouldnt surprise me to see milicic every bit as good as dirk is for dallas)

anthony and bosh will be very solid as well. bosh needs a little more muscle, but he reminds me of garnett when he was young
