I am a firm believer in coaching being maybe the most crucial part of a teams success com postseason. I think coaches easily are just as responsible for championships as anyone else on the team (with the exception of maybe the colts cause peyton is the coach pretty much).

that being said, we have some great coaches in this postseason.

I think we have the best maybe alltime in bilicek, and payton is on his way to becoming in the discussion if he can have 7-8 more good years.....

If i was too pick a coach who is in this postseason too coach my team, well i think i would probably go:

1.Belicik- nothing has too be said

2. Payton- dude already won a championship and he is a pure genious

3. Tomlin- Guy is nothing but business and somehting about him just makes guys better and winners

4. Reid- ya i know he hasnt won the big one in philly yet, but got to a SB and i think 4 other NFC championships. guy knows how too win.

5. Ryan- hate the guy, but he does knw the game, and on defense, prolly best guy too have around

6. Mike Smith- I think he is great coach, maybe better then most ppl think, but show me something in postseason before you get higher on list

7. Lovie- not a huge fan, but has gotten to a SB, and won some playoff games, or he may be last on the list right now

8. Mccarthy- guy still has a long way too go before being considered elite, but has his team ready each week, and is always competitive. like mike smith, show me somthing

9. Caldwell- Personally, I like the guy, but really peyton makes a lot of the decisons and dictates too much too consider caldwell more valuable then most of the other coaches at this point, like i said though think he is good and smart guy

10. Haurbaugh- Sorry jack, but really dont think he is better then the guys listed above. he knows the game and ya he has been there before which obviously i think is valuable, but something about him i dont care for. still think he has enough talent on his roster too get to the big game.

11. Haley- Absolute amazing turnaround with the chiefs, but I think it has jsut as much to do with coordinaters rather then him. He has great cast around him, and I think they are just as big of reason that franchise in back in the playoffs. Seems like cool guy, but not who i would want leading me into battle.

12. Carroll- well, seahawks are 7-9 and pretty bad. He just snuck in and for that i cant give him much credit for where he had this team. Congrats on getting there, but your not playin oregon anymore. I think for now he is outmatched. He is too knowledgable not to become one of the elites down the road, but for now, your not who i would want.

I wouldnt be suprised if the top 4 coaches on my list are the last 4 coaching this year.

Philly vs saints and steelers vs pats...I would tune in and watch!:toast:

just figured i would post for something too think about and consider when capping games. Coaches really do make a difference this time of year, and I like having my money on the ones who have been there done that !!!!!

sorry if i speelled the names wrong doing this off top of my head bored at work, but honestly like i said i think coaching is huge come this point in the year!!!!

GL this postseason fellas make that coin!

Well, I think that if you are going to talk about coaches, you have to talk about offensive and defensive coaches, and in some teams special team coaches.

Tomlin is extremely overrated, put Lebeau out of the mix and he is screwed, why we do not take a look on every single coach that is worth to talk about in every team, I will glady chat about it.

Tomlin is extremely overrated,.

gotta disagree there. I do agree with lebau being huge asset. I think he is the single greatest D coordinater on the planet. However, I still think tomlin would find ways too win with someone else. Would they be as dominant, or win as many games? Probably not. I do think tomlin is a great coach and a great leader.

I would love too see tomlin in Miami, I think he is the type of guys who gets the absolute best ouuta his players, and accepts nothing less. Some coaches are known as "players coaches", which IMO means they allow the players run the show (see wade phillips). Tomlin i think is the exact oppostite, while he respects and values his players and their opinions, there is no argument on who runs the show in PITT.

II could be absolutley wrong, but I see all games, press confrences, interviews, and from what I see, guy is good.

Belichik has to be on top and much like you said about Manning being a coach on the field, Brady is the same thing.

Reid calls too many pass plays which is going to burn the eagles in the playoffs if they dont establish a run and stop getting Vicks ass beat.

I love Sean Payton and agree 100% about what you say about him.

My top 3 would be the above 3, after those 3 I think theres quite a dropoff. Probably have to go Tomlin and Lovie next based on Superbowl appearances/wins. I hated the Martz/Lovie show at first but I think they have it working now. Bears will be a tough out.

League of their own:
1. BB. Hands down.

Next in line:
2. Payton. Has a good grasp on what's going on, very good at scheming,
3. Tomlin. Man, the guy just wins, not the greatest game day planner IMO though and I think that's why I put him behind SP.

Can they get over the hump?
4. Sexy Rexy. Loudmouth. Annoying. Hell of a football coach.
5. Reid. Consistently wins in what is, year in and year out, a tough division.
6. Mike Smith. Great season. Can he keep the train rolling?
7. Harbaugh. Still has the Ravens cranked up, and has turned the offense around. Question is has the offense reached a plateau?

Guys who I start to lack confidence in.
8. Lovie. Did he carry the Bears to the Super Bowl, or did they carry him?
9. Haley. Too young to rate, and I don't think it's just the coordinators. It's the top down "Patriots" approach. We'll see if he is the right guy out in KC.
10. Caldwell. I don't really know. They've won, but the guy just seems like he's along for the ride...still, made the playoffs with half the team on IR...
11. McCarthy. If Carroll wasn't on this list, he'd be at 12.
12. Pete Carroll. The cheerleader is the ultimate players coach. Which is great...if you're coaching in college.

As long as he is winning he is good, but when he is losing he kind of lose it, he looks really scared about the game when that happens
