As I'm writing this it is 33 Degrees. Rain and sleets is coming and temps will drop to the high 20's over the next week.

I'm off work tomorrow but feel 80% of DFW will be taking Friday off as well. I have a disc golf tournament Saturday and it will not be canceled. It is a memorial tournament, to much in motion. People coming from Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and across Texas. 30 straight holes should be a blast, an artic blast.

Stay warm my fellow Texans.

PS I lived 7 years in Minot, North Dakota. I know what cold is and it is cold here my friends.

Jezus it's cold in Big D!

Luckily my wife had an ice scrapper she brought with her when she moved here from Conneticut... Even with that handy tool scraping the ice was torture. I don't even own a pair of gloves..

Scrapped about an inch and a half of ice of the front and back windshields.. Never could get the driver side door open had to crawl through passenger side.

But through all the trials and tribulation I still managed to get to the store and load up on Guinness, baby formula and a new pair of gloves

I don't think so, I am pretty sure they are still called repo men. Texas doesn't really have a different dialect as much as it is an accent. For instance a dick is still a dick and an elephant seal is still an elephant seal. I was only being facetious though. There aren't really elephant seals on my pool deck, I was referencing the weather conditions. What were you referencing?

Hope this helps,

When you stated that elephant seals were fighting over the deck chairs. I was referencing your past delightful posts about Jack being able to just go repo his items from a nonpaying consumer. I was simply making a sarcastic notion that maybe these "elephant seals" were actually repo men, as I am quite sure you were also being facetious and did not have elephant seals actually fighting over a deck chair. Technically we were both being facetious, you about the weather conditions, me about repo men. I do agree a dick is still a dick, but dont really see where that fits into the scenario, what were you referencing?

Or, one could say I was being facetious, while you were being sarcastic. There is a difference. I don't have elephant seals fighting over deck chairs, they are not indigenous to this area, nor are deck chairs as I don't have any of them in the area either.

As I recall the conversation you are referring to, you were upset that I got rather cross with you, which I apologized for. It was my understanding that the issue was behind us. Obviously, I was wrong. Why else would you make a sarcastic reference to it now, so many months later? That is unfortunate, as I had hoped it was. To be quite frank, I am not in the mood nor do I have the energy to take up the verbal sword again as it relates to the issue, so you'll have to go this one alone my friend.

I was referencing the similarity of dialect as it relates to geography while questioning the malevolence of the inferred tone you used in your initial post.

It definitely fits the scenario, you may just have to look a bit harder.

Hope this helps,

When I dropped my 5 year old off for school today the Truck read -14 and with wind chill felt like -34.

Thats fucking cold.

Not going to get quite that cold here this weekend, but highs in the teens with 15 MPH winds will make it feel as if its below zero.
If the wind blows like they say its supposed to, I'll have to wear a coat to go out....:scared

Daughter's birthday today...turning 7... Had reservation for bowling party at Alley Cats tomorrow. Just called to cancel because most parents have called me to cancel. Can't even reschedule because the place is booked next weekend except for a 10 A.M. spot on Sunday. Yeah, right! Like any kid is going to attend at that time. Wife wants me to go to Wal-Mart to pick up an ice-cream cake for tonight. Can't even back out of the driveway safely at this time, and it ain't getting any better. Damn it!

It was mid 60's last night in NJ, I actually ran outside in a t shirt. These weather patterns are strange.
