Regular Season Record: 60-58 for -3.25 units
Post-season Record: 21-17 for +6.55 units

For Friday:

Zona/FSU Under 12.5 -110 for 2 units ? Two teams that can rake but think the pitching will hold up. Heyer didn?t have a great outing in the Supers, but I expect him to bounce back and Liebrandt did a great job in the Supers after a rough 1st inning vs. Stanford. Wind will be blowing in both Friday and Saturday from the current weather forecast.

Some small future plays:

Zona +285 to win Bracket for ? unit
Stony +565 to win Bracket for ? unit ? I think this bracket is tough to handicap and would not be surprised to see one of the two ?dog?s on this side advance to the final.

Arky +300 to win Bracket for ? unit ? they are far from the best team on paper, but I like their make-up and if Baxendale could snap out of his funk, I think they have more than a legitimate shot at being in the final. Missing Roth & Randall from SC and Fla initially is a big advantage too. Now if they are to win the bracket, they will likely have to beat one of those guys in the latter games of the week, but facing one of those studs once is far better than the position of twice.

Florida +180 to win CWS for 1 unit ? nothing flashy here, just feel like these guys returned essentially the whole crew from the runner up club of a year ago and will now be able to hoist the trophy.

UCLA +335 to win CWS for ? unit ? Boyd Nation has them as the odds on favorite in his computations. Given that, figure at +335 a good value.

Stony had seven players selected in the draft..certainly worth a shot.

Hopefully my adopted Golden Flashes play well also.

On Monday when Kent won and they showed some of their fans that were in Oregon for the regional celebrating in the stands, it was neat to recognize some of the faces of die-hards that were sitting nearby at the Gary regional the week before.

im with you on the Stoney future Poon. I think they have as good of shot as anyone to win that bracket and to me had the most impressive super regional beating a top notch LSU team twice on the road...and really should have won all 3 games.

Browns WR taking Kent State fans to Omaha BY Jon Nyatawa | 7:23 am, Wednesday, Jun. 13 | POSTED IN CWS
Josh Cribbs wants to root on Kent State?s baseball team in its first-ever appearance in the College World Series. And he wants some Golden Flashes fans there with him.

Cribbs ? the former Kent State football player and current Cleveland Browns wide receiver ? bought 53 CWS tickets and rented a charter bus. Now he?s inviting fans to fill the open spots for a three-day trip.

Pay $150 and you get a seat on the bus, food and drink for the trip, a hotel room Friday night, a T-shirt and a ticket to Saturday?s game (Kent State plays Arkansas at 4 p.m). Not bad right?

Cleveland to Omaha ? that?s more than 13 hours. But there will apparently be games, music and movies to entertain. It appears that Cribbs won?t be on the bus, but will be in Omaha.

Below is what the former Kent State quarterback told the Akron Beacon Journal, describing his reaction as he watched the Golden Flashes upset Oregon in the Super Regional Monday night to clinch a spot in Omaha.

?I was getting a massage. I jumped off the table. I felt like I was at the game. I was jumping around. I grabbed my phone, tweeting. [Strong safety] T.J. [Ward] went to Oregon. I was like, ?We beat them seagulls,? messing with him. I can?t get enough. They?re going to the big show. That?s what it?s all about. ? My masseuse was like, ?Do you want me to stop real quick?? I was jumping around. ?They did it!? They had me on pins and needles. I turned back from the game. They were getting me too stressed out while I was getting stretched and massaged. It was too tense. Then when [Oregon] came back, I couldn?t look. It was epic.?

Read that...unfortunately I've only "adopted" them.

Actually a Badger fan through and through.

Hey poon. You seem to know a lot about the college game.

How did they draw up the first round pairings? Was it just a blind draw?

Thanks poon. Heading down to Omaha next week.

Hey poon. You seem to know a lot about the college game.

How did they draw up the first round pairings? Was it just a blind draw?

Thanks poon. Heading down to Omaha next week.

They feed in from the original bracket. If the top 8 seeds all win, it would be 1 vs. 8 (which was a #1 seed in their own regional), 2 vs. 7 and so on.

Florida was the #1 overall seed and USC was the overall #8, that is why they are facing eachother. They don't reseed or do anything like that, currently. Given this it is just like the NCAA basketball tourney, where you could have a situation like the 2011 Final Four (Kentucky vs. UConn on one side and two dogs like VCU vs. Butler on the other side).

Not sure if that makes sense or not the way I explained it.

It didn't use to be that way, and they use to determine the CWS pairings right before that week. Among mid-major circles there is a conspiracy theory that the '91 CWS was rigged by the NCAA and CBS so that Creighton and Wichita State were both in the same bracket. The conspiracy goes that they were weary of bad tv ratings if Creighton and Wichita made it to the final and no big schools were in the game. Wichita ended up beating Creighton twice (w/ one being an extra inning contest that is considered one of the best CWS games ever) and then lost to LSU in the final.

Have fun in Omaha, I'm taking a hiatus this year. The new park is nice, just too bad they don't sell beer for the CWS like they do for Creighton's games during the year.

And one more small one:

UCLA -1.5 -125 for 1/2 unit - butting heads w/ jbly here but I'll take a shot at the smaller RL from what was posted earlier. Plutko has pitched really well recently for UCLA so I think there is a good chance he can keep the hot Stony bats quiet.
