I hadn't heard anything on McCreery either but looks like Shawn find the info. I would expect ASU to have some lofty expectations and a hungry team next year.

jbly - that Purdue/UCLA game was something. Didn't see it unfold and just saw the high score, and then read up the recap later. Purdue needed that to still have a shot at hosting.

You had two crazy comebacks...Purdue Sunday and that gamecock game Friday...Cant believe USC won with Stanek on the mound and a 6-0 lead. Really looking hard to find tickets for their friday night game in a few weeks against LSU...Roth vs Gausman with a possible national seed on the line...college baseball doesnt get any better than that!

All 3 USC/Arky games were somewhat wild ones. The Saturday one in which I had Arkansas was also televised and a good one to watch. Then Sunday they had a slugfest with Price giving up 7 ER in relief, but the Gamecocks were able to plate more. Really surprised at how easily hittable Baxendale has been this year against good competition.

That will be a good matchup of Roth & Gausman.

Baxendal had been pitching much better and looked like he was heating up at the right time...he shut down Flordia last week had a very good outing against kentucky 2 weeks b4...he pitched 6 scoreless against SC on sunday b4 they got 4 off of him in the 7th. That was a big series for SC and their national seed hopes

jumped on ECU +160 earlier. They have a pitching advantage tonight and are at home. UNC used both their top relievers last last night too. Not sure game gets played though...forecast of rain and thunderstorms in the greenville area

ECU definitely has the starting pitching edge. UNC going with a frosh that has thrown just 7.1 IP and walked 6 in that timeframe. However, UNC has been noticeably better on offense since Moran's return to the lineup. I decided to stay away. Not bad taking the home dog though in what should be a close game.

Just heads up, fellas. Aaron Nola of LSU has been promoted to Saturday starter. Eades will start Sundays the next 2 weeks. Nola has outproduced Eades for the last 4 weeks. Plus, Eades and Gausman are very similar pitchers, so splitting them up appears to be a better strategy than throwing them back-to-back. It also will hopefully jump start Eades, who has shown poor form of late.

Id like them to sit Eades this Sunday if lsu wins both Friday and Saturday vs Vandy. Seems like he could use the rest.

thanks for the info Cie. Nola is a tough kid, been slated to go to LSU since his brother signed. Now he is a weekend starter in his first year. You have a great point about him sitting though. Young arm that could use the rest heading into that last series with USC and then the postseason. Plus, if LSU wants to make a deep run, they need one of those mid-week starters/long relievers like Joe Broussard to really step up. If that happens they will be in Omaha in the third week of June.

thats very similar to what NC State did with the Fantastic Fresh Roden this past wknd. Rested his arm in their series with Cal Bakersfield. Thanks for the info!

Any thoughts on Auburn/ark today? I'm looking at playing Auburn +2.5 as it stands. Jacobs for Auburn has decent#s .199 bA against, 3.23 era and Arky is pitching Baxendale...he just pitched sunday going 7+ innings...Im thinking he has a short appearance tonight. Auburn in desperate need of a good win to keep regional chances alive.

for Week #13:

Auburn +2.5 +145 (@ Arky) for 1 unit ? Arkansas isn?t able to throw their #1 guy Stanek as he is battling back issues. They will go with veteran DJ Baxendale who has had a few rough outings in conference play also he threw 109 pitches on Sunday, so only 3 days rest. Auburn will go with their senior John Luke Jacobs, who?s not great but definitely having his best season. Auburn has a decent edge offensively so getting a couple runs at + money is worth the shot.

yup, just saw the lines posted and took Auburn. Great spot between the two books as 5 dimes has Arky at +100 so I can hedge a unit there and throw another at the + money on betus.

1-0 on the night as Auburn wins outright 3-2 in 10 innings. Not expecting many lined games this weekend as there is only one series pitting top 25 clubs against eachother (Miss St. vs. Florida).

Updated Record: 44-41 for +5.55 units

For Friday:

Miami -1.5 +125 (vs. Wake) for 1 unit ? two weekends ago I got burnt by the Hurricanes twice vs. UVa. They still have many of the same warts, bad defense and without their top bat in Peter O?Brien. However, they are notably better than Wake in the pitching and offensive categories. Wake?s best series wins are against some other middling ACC clubs.
