UCF will send freshman Eric Skoglund to the mound for his fifth start of the season. The 6-foot-7 lefthander from Sarasota has been an instant success on the mound, compiling a 3-1 record, a 2.13 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings pitched. He admitted that pitching against Miami is somewhat like a dream come true, but his only mission is to help UCF notch what would be its biggest win of the season.

"It's huge for me and an honor for me to pitch this game. But I'm just going to treat it like any other day,'' Skoglund said. ``I'm not going to worry about the other jersey or those orange and green colors. I'm going out to do my thing and have fun.''

Probable Starters (UCF first)
LHP Eric Skoglund (3-1, 2.13 ERA) vs. RHP Javi Salas (3-0, 3.77 ERA)

I'm gonna roll with UCF +150...UCF looks to have the starting pitching edge and also has a lights out closer...these mid week games tend to be more important to the smaller ranked schools who are trying to host a regional.

One other note...looks like the $100 per line limit is not in effect.

agree with you on this one, still +150 at betus.

UCF +150 (@ Miami) for 1 unit - jbly noted the pitchers. UCF is a solid squad that I took a shot on a few weeks back against FSU and they blew a chance at a big win there with a bad inning. This is a solid team that looks capable of making some noise in the tourney. Also Miami's D is really bad this year and I just don't trust them against good competition.

How is betus compared to 5 dimes? I might want to diversify and put $ in easch so i can get the best lines avaliable on these college games...they are pretty volatile

I have had mixed reactions to them. Sometimes they are pretty good with service, other times not so much. They do take wagers over the phone if that interests you at all.

Their lines on MLB games are not as attractive as other books.

thanks for the insight...i probably wouldnt use them for anything other than college baseball..i dont really play a lot of MLB. I may look into openning a seperate account with them so i can get the best lines on college between the two sites and be able to put more on a game if 5dimes puts the $100 rule in affect again.

nice + money win last nite for us both...Hopefully we will get some Thursday lines soon!

Got a little worried win UCF starter was pulled after 2 innings but the staff pitched well especially the closers...Madrid got us out of a big jam in the 7and Rogers closed the door in the 9th. I like what ive seen from this team..could be one to watch in the regionals/super regionals.

yup, 1-0 as UCF staff limits them to 1 run. Only issue I see with UCF in the post-season is that they could very likely end up in Florida or FSU's regional as a 2 seed which would be a tough draw. Though technically if they stay hot, they could be in the mix for a #1 seed. Not sure if they have put in to host, so they may be one of those #1 seeds that go to a #2 seed that is hosting.

Updated Record: 19-24 for -3.12

Will start a new thread for the Week 8 games.

What i'm hearing is that there is a good chance they host...Miami looks like it may end up as a 2 somewhere. That game was big for UCF last night.

If they have put in an application and they stay hot they have a good shot. I don't know much about their facilities, but the NCAA has in recent years tried to get new schools to host to mix-up venues and sites. It's part of their initiative to grow the sport and I think it has done a good job ensuring some non-traditional power schools get their due credit and the advantages of hosting a regional.
