kansas st.-26(120)....
this is the start of ron prince's 3rd year coaching at ksu....the first year the team made it to a bowl game & last year the team finished 5-7....so i think the team will be looking to come out of the gate very fast. the wildcats were an extremely dangerous offensive unit last year, especially with their passing attack. josh freeman threw for 3,300+ yards and 18 TDs....& with 7 starters back from last year's team that averaged about 35 ppg. i expect him to have a field day against one of the worst defenses in college football. last year ksu's weakness was on defense, but i don't see them having any problems against nt.
meanwhile north texas is coming off a horrendous season in which the team went just 2-10 & are 7-28 over the last three years. on defense, nt gave up 45+ points per game and nearly 500 total yards per outing in 2007....they allowed 230 rushing ypg last season and lost three starting linebackers from last year's team.....& since 2005 nt has given up an average of 62 ppg & have gone 0-5 ats against bcs opponents....
nt has simply been out-manned by non sun-belt teams in recent years, as they are 3-18 ats in their last 21 non-conference games, including 0-12 ats as an underdog of more than 17 points....& that includes losses of 10-79 at okla. and 7-66 at ark last season under this coach. ksu is 6-0 ats as a home favorite of 4 points or more under coach prince & are 73-33 ats at home since 1990.
i am expecting ksu to come out of the gates very fast in their home opener & put a beating on nt today in their home opener.
good luck
