a little writeup on the under 52 utah st /utah...

utah has lost from last year's team...the mwc player of the year at qb, 3 wide receivers, the starting rb, 2 starting o-linemen, the off. cordinator, the ol coach, & the defensive coordinator, who is now the head coach at utah st....& eventhough the replacements are very capable, utah still faces a transistion period & i see them using a conservative game plan for this game & relying on their defense in the early going of the season.....in total utah has 4 returning starters from last year's offense & 7 from the defense....

the new coach on utah st had been the defensive coordinator for utah for 5 years & should be very familiar with utah's personnel & schemes.....his team is returning 10 from last year's offense & 7 from the defense.....

because of the close relationship between coaches, i don't see utah running up the score on utah st...& feel that the under is a good play for this game...

good luck

AR- Like the in the Utah/Utah State game. We will also be breaking in either a True Freshman QB or a JC transfer. Right now the True Freshman is #1 on the depth chart. Utah's defense will be tough as nails this year, so I don't expect the Aggies to score much.
GL this season!

minn. -6 (120).....

usually am not inclined to lay points on the road but really like this matchup..minn. is in the 3rd year of their coach & return 10 on offense, including their qb & wide receiver who caught 84 passes last & their entire offensive line.....on defense minn returns 8 starters from last year....

this is the first year for syracuse's new coach & he has his work cut out for him because syracuse has gone 10-37 over the last 4 seasons.....they are returning 6 on offense & 7 on defense....

good luck...

also doesn't hurt your play that Syracuse's starting qb hasn't played organized football in 4 years

Kick some tail this year, AR

it's a shame how far the syracuse program has fallen....used to follow them when i was living in ny....hopefully the new coach can turn the team around after the robinson debacle...

adding...

memphis+18 (115).....

this is a lot of points for miss. to lay on the road at memphis, where they are 1-4 ats since 1999.... maybe it's because of all the hype that miss. has gotten entering this season...

memphis should have a very potent, well balanced offense this year...they return a 1,000 yd. rusher (curtis steele) from last year, 2 (calhoun & singleton) of the top 3 receivers & a qb (arkelon hall) who completed 57%of his passes...there is a problem though that they return only 1 starter from last year's team.....but they do have 4 of their top 10 o-linemen returning as well as 3 juco transfers to throw into the mix....

memphis returns 7 starters from last year's defense & although they got blown out in the bowl game last year, the memphis defense did show signs of improvement as the season progressed...

we all know about the miss. hype & i do think that there is a chance for them to finish in the top 10 nationally at the end of the year...they are returning 7 from last year's offense which will be lead by a very good qb in snead...but they are thin on the offensive line where they have to replace an all-american tackle (oher)....

on defense miss. is returning 8 from last year's starters but their 2ndary is supposed to be very average & need to improve at the corners.....

i'll take the home dog who should be able to move the ball to keep within the 18 points....

good luck....

here is something that i read on another site.....

teams looking past their week #1 opponent....

Most likely to be looking ahead in week 1....i would appreciate it if anybody has any others...or if they disagree....

Ohio State...with revenge vs USC in week 2

Kentucky...with rivalery game vs Louisville in week 2 and SEC tilts vs FLA, ALA, SC and AUB in weeks 3-6

Purdue...with road game at Oregon in week 2

Tennessee...with revenge vs UCLA in week 2 and FLA in week 3

Notre Dame...with Michigan/Michigan State comming up next

Michigan...with ND comming up next

USC...with road game at OHST in week 2

Clemson...with two ACC games in weeks 2 and 3 including a road revenge vs GA Tech on 4 days rest in week 2.

Connecticut...with home revenge vs UNC in week 2

UCLA...with Tennessee road trip in week 2

Stanford...with road trip to WF in week 2

UTEP...with Kansas game in week 2......i disagree with this one because utep was trounced last year by buffalo & i think utep will be looking to get revenge for that humliation......

Real good stuff AR...was already wondering about 3 of these already...Ky, Clemson, & Tennessee. Even if Louisville were not on deck for Kentucky, not so sure they need to be a 14pt favorite over anybody...the only thing that would scare me is if Cobb gets to many snaps at QB and/or had a huge day...still have memories of when they played a damn good Georgia team to the wire. Don't think I could play on Clemson with a big game the following Thursday...and Middle has been known to play bigger name opponents tuff...Maryland last year. And maybe the most interesting one Tennessee. Altough they could probably name the score against W Kentucky...providing they find any offense...you know they want the Bruins bad and could put the cheerleaders in the 2nd half...but yet, Kiffin may want to cover also? Should be a great opening week.

I might be stretching a bit, but Minnesota plays their home opener and first ever game in their new on-site stadium in week 2.

it's not that much of a stretch cie....but look at the list of players who left the syracuse program since the new coach took over....this may not be such a bad thing considering how poorly syracuse has performed in recent years....

btw the list is a copy & paste from another site....

8/12/09 FB Daniel Collier left team
8/12/09 DE Zary Stewart left team
8/12/09 DE Romale Tucker left team
8/11/09 DB Dale Peterman DNQ will attend CC
6/28/09 K Austin Wallis left team
6/27/09 WR Dan Sheeran left team
6/26/09 CB Matt Reid left team
6/25/09 TE Darnell Pratt left team
6/24/09 K Ryan Novak left team transfer to Temple
6/23/09 DT Elon Mitchell left team
6/22/09 DE Lamar Middlerton left tea
6/21/09 LB Mike Mele left team
6/20/09 QB David LeGree left team
6/19/09 OG Michael Kay left team
6/18/09 TE Brett Hoffman left team
6/17/09 CB Tyrell Harris left team
6/16/09 RB Jerry Harden left team
6/15/09 WR Trey Fairchild left team
6/14/09 CB Nick Chestnut left team
6/13/09 WR Chaz Cervino left team
6/12/09 LB Parker Cantey left team
6/11/09 DE Chris Basile left team
6/10/09 K John Barker left team

Added to this list today was their starting Freshman kicker, Shane Raupers.

syracuse is so paper thin at depth and talent that they announced the other day that the best qb they could come up with as starter for the season was paulus -- a point guard the last several years for Duke University. imo this is an indication how desperate they are to find athletes to play for this team.....

minny brings back most of their starters from last season & by what i have read a very confident attitude towards winning.....but we shall see if they are the right side in this game....

good luck..
