You hate Comcast or you hate Norton?

Either way, if you don't like when somebody gives you something for free, I saw McAfee 2010 Antivirus 1-user at WalMart for $14.99.

I love Norton, always had them, never had problems, and always wondered why people complain about them. Norton has saved my ass many-a-times.

I don't understand where Comcast comes into the picture

I have Comcast too, but I have my own virus programs.

That's the one I hate and had problems with. Never again.

I'm Norton auto-subscriber :SIB

With those torrent sites, if I didn't have Norton, this computer would have been toast many-a-time.

I'm liking these hyphenated word groups :mj07:

Jack,
Comcast internet subscribers now get Norton Security Suite free of charge.
They used to provide McAfee. In my eyes, this is a major upgrade. Local computer guy here once told me, "Having McAfee is like having no virus protection at all"

Well, I have comcast and didn't even know it. I have Norton too. How does this affect me?

There's that affect and effect thing again :SIB

Didn't know they gave Norton, used Norton, whatever.

I'm confused, I guess.

You can download Norton Security Suite from Comcast at any time. You don't have to pay for renewals/updates as long as you are a Comcast internet customer.
Check out security dot comcast dot net
It should be front and center on that page.

Why do you have to use it if you don't like it? Did they install something to your computer that you didn't authorize? What's the problem?

I guess you could go through all the trouble of switching providers, or you could uninstall Norton and pay for McAfee. You can find 3-user McAfee 2010 for less than $20. That's $6 a PC per year.

If its FIOS, I think they offer McAfee. Haven't looked recently, though.
