I think I got the "blue screen" one time in my computer history. Maybe.

When I click a link? It's just like changing the channel on my TV, it's that fast.

I have Comcast so the same thing happened to me. I'm not a big fan of Norton, but I'm not really a fan of McAfee, either. It's already been mentioned, but an anti-virus like AVG will work just as well as McAfee and you can download it for free. If you go to Google and type in "AVG Free Edition" it will take you to their site. There are also plenty of free anti-spyware programs you can download, too (SpyBot, Malwarebytes, etc.).

Just throwing those out there. I understand if you're loyal to McAfee, but I think there are some free options that work just as well.

No problem. Yeah, if you were to download an anti-virus like AVG it would protect you from viruses, but you should still probably download an anti-spyware as well. I know that with AVG once you have it downloaded it will do automatic scans, but I think some of the anti-spyware stuff you have to do your own scans.

I totally understand not wanting to deal with the headache. I think this is one of the situations where all you can do is say fuck a lot, Wease. ;)

Removing google tool bar will solve lots of problems--I avoid using everything I can related to google.

--On diff note used to have zone alarm firewall and it was constantly picking up attacks from Ukraine and neighboring countries. Is amazing how many sources out there are trying to invade our computers.

If your behind a router then your machine is basically behind a firewall since your pc does not have a outside ip address.

I am not a big fan of toolbars , espically since both IE and Firefox have the search bar in the top right now.

for Antivirus, I use AVG, and it does a pretty damn good job.

I like google's search box because all you have to do is highlight text and it goes directly to the search box and hit enter. It saves 2 clicks and God knows people don't like to click. :142smilie

So you only have your cable modem? Interesting, I thought most people would have more than one computer, espically a guy running a web business

The router runs from my computer so I'm not behind it, right?

Why would I need other computers for me around the house?

Yeah, there are 4 other computers but I don't use them.
